This is definitely not a swanky restaurant just very cosy and easygoing. Great atmosphere, great food , unpretentious menu yet an interesting one . Very good for seafood Good idea to book Reasonable prices and pleasant staff

Very nice waiters and waitresses. Very good service. The tomato soup is realy the best in town. The fish was very tasteful incl. the fresh vegitables and mushed potato. The wine was also good and well priced.

Nice warm homely restaurant offering large variety of seafood dishes. My plain grilled kingklip fillet was delicious but I was disappointed in my tomato based fish soup which was bland and did not have the depth of flavour of its French counterparts. Very popular so...More

We spent our last night in Cape Town at Miller's Thumb. The place is lovely, the staff is very friendly and very well qualified. The food was absolutely perfect, we had the baby calamari and the wasabi kingklip, they were both amazingly delicious.

I simply cannot understand the small minority of people who have given this restaurant a poor rating. I travel the country and the world and eat out often. I had one of my best meals ever at Miller's Thumb. The chef really knows what he...More

What I love about Miller's Thumb (aside from the wonderfully prepared, fresh fish) is their approach to ordering. That is, when you open the menu, they have a list of normal appetizers (like one would expect) but then, the menu takes a different turn and...More

Really nice food. A few funky options but everything is definitely freshly caught. Don't miss out their specials, as we ordered from that and had some amazing stuff.

We arrived around 720pm after a spectacular sunset on top of Table Mountain. I had previously tried to look for an online booking but it was not offered, and being international travelers we weren't going to use international mobile rates to book, so we decided...More

We arrived a little early before opening, with no booking, but were welcomed with no fuss. It felt like visiting family. Simple cooking mostly concentrated on fish, but so, so good! Better than a flash restaurant on the V @ A waterfront in terms of...More

Had the local geelbek which was very well prepared - both the fish and the vegetables. Was seated in the bar - right next to the coffee grinding machine. It can not be recommended to accept that seat.

The fish curry and local fish dishes are superb. The meals are in GBP around 20 per person for a couple of courses at the very most and the wine is very reasonable and good! The service atmosphere and high quality of food is... More

Hey Claudia, it's best to contact the restaurant directly. I worked for Solly and Jane (the owners) for many years and although they are masters at what they do, their social media game is not always on point :) As far as I... More
