Great atmosphere, service and food. It is a little different from many places. The seats are low to a coffee table type of table (I guess don't go if you have a bad back), and food is served in a huge table sized bowl that has a huge table sized piece of Ethiopian "bread" and food is put on the... Recommended by the place we were staying and went without any pre conceptions. The tables and chairs were a big surprise, low and small, made of basket work with conical covers like straw tagines. Our waitress explained the menu, steering us toward the set meal, the most expensive option which we chose. With a starter of a wafer thin pancake... More

Very delicious food and really kind and courteous waiters. It was our first visit in this restaurant and they explained everything very well. So because of the delicious food, the interior and the waiters it was an extraordinary fantastic experience!

The seats were comfortable, the waiter is really accommodating and welcoming with a big smile and swift in bringing up the orders with great help in selection. BUT, the food was COLD and not as spicy as we requested and expected for Ethiopian food ! Amount is small ( not matched with what we ordered ). I think better restaurants... More

Ethiopian cuisine is not something you commonly find, so I loved this. There's a big variety and a decent selection for vegetarians. Eating the Injera off the platter with a group of friends is really fun. Give it a go.

We were lucky to get a reservation on short notice (which was very kind of the staff). The food was good. But the waiter we got (the one with the dreadlocks) received us with the worst and unpolitest service I ever had in a restaurant: -let us wait and gave us orders were to stand/sit while waiting -said we have... We went there as a group and ordered the set menu. Eating from a single large plate is a unique experience, made our meal much more pleasant. The cuisine was very Ethopian. Drink service was tardy unfortunately...but the atmosphere is truly unique in Cape Town. Definitely recommend.

We could not decide on what to have so we had the Set Menu which includes a starter, a main course of 8 different non vegetarian or vegetarian dishes, dessert and Ethiopian coffee or tea. The flavours were amazing and we loved the teff injera. The honey wine (tej) tasted like cooldrink, delicious! The decor and the atmosphere was interesting... More

As a newbie to Ethiopian cuisine, I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this restaurant. The staff member was fantastic, explaining the menu and being very friendly and attentive. He came and washed our hands before serving the food, it was so unique. I am vegan but my boyfriend is not so I got the lunch vegetarian combo - ordering 2 dishes... More

Bloody hell, this restaurant is incredible. By far one of the best spots in Cape Town. Perfect for vegetraians/vegans. Food is out of this world, decor is fantastic, vibe is great, and I was there by myself! Great staff too, thank you!

Description
Addis in Cape! Voted best African Eatery in Cape Town, an authentic Ethiopian restaurant that caters for Non-vegetarian, Vegan and Vegetarian clients. We provide a unique communal dining experience you, your family and friends will remember. From traditional hand-wash ceremonies to our traditional Ethiopian coffee we promise a memorable experience.
Ethiopian cuisine is famous for its rich aromas and generous use of herbs and spices. The country was historically situated on trading routes that included the trade of many exotic spices; this history has had a tremendous influence on the taste of Ethiopian food as we know it. Today most of the herbs and spices are blended and prepared in the home with great love and attention, as are those used in Addis in Cape. The dishes that you taste here are unique to Ethiopia and we are proud as a restaurant to share them with you.
