I had 4 nights in Hazyview, I ate at Kuka two of the nights and two afternoons, the food was superb, fresh and tasty and all good value for money. There is a large car park, it’s so easy to find right at the main junction, free wifi and the atmosphere is very chilled. You can hear the insects in the evening which is lovely, and the staff are so helpful! Douglas has served me a couple of times and cannot do enough to help, even planning my journey to Kruger! You have to see this place if you are close by

Load shedding forced my daughter and I to go out for dinner. Kuka was the only restaurant that was able to continue serving most items on the menu. We both started with the Pork Belly poppers. They were very well prepared and certainly delicious. The only small detraction was there were only 3 small pieces of belly... I feel 4 would be more appropriate for the price. We followed this with an eye fillet cooked to medium rare.... and the chef nailed it. The salad and sides complimented the steak nicely. The service was prompt and friendly and in the circumstances it was a a very pleasant evening out and dining experience.

We spent a couple of nights in Hazyview and were able to experience the great food being served at Kuka. The SA wine was delicious as well. Smangele was very attentive and I would not hesitate to recommend an evening meal, or two at Kuka. If I return to Hazyview I will definitely return to Kuka.

Had dinner with 4 persons. The starters were ok but mains were disappointing. My fish trio was all deep fried, even the shrimps which is a pitty as this can be made much for tasteful. My husbands Tbone was not rare and needed to be returned. We had higher expectations after the reviews we read.

Working our way through the venues at Perry’s Bridge Trading Post in Hazyview, we visited this restaurant for our lunch one day. Enjoying the full pleasure of their outside deck and our waitress being friendly and attentive, we selected a Deli Sandwich and Pizza from their range of Mediterranean inspired dishes. The Farm Stack sandwich, which consisted of grilled chicken breast, with bacon, avocado, rocket, pecorino, and a basil pesto mayo was a refreshing change from most overprocessed foods you get at restaurants. The copious chicken breasts were soft and well prepared and served as a great basis to compliment all the fresh and flavoursome ingredients combined to make a good sandwich topping. The toasted ‘ciabatta’ it was served on tasted very much like a regular white bread bun (not bad but not a ciabatta as the menu promised). The Four Seasons pizza, consisting of mozzarella, bacon, olives, sun dried tomatoes, artichokes and basil was bit of a disappointment. The pizza base was thicker than expected and hard. While the fresh basil leaves and artichokes were the highlight of this dish, the clumps of sun-dried tomatoes were hard while still oozing oil (almost like newly dried tomatoes were put in oil to re-constitute and taken out too quickly).

My husband and I order breakfast. The waitress was very pleasant, when breakfast was brought It was cold , the waitress took the order to the kitchen. The breakfast was then given back to us once again it had not been warned up. We called the Manager he was ill mannered. He asked us how would we want our order to be, we said just hot, his words that’s how we serve it , I explained that I had trained chefs and had a chefs training college, he then said he would be back he walked away we waited but he never came back . We then asked for the bill was charged for the coffee and left. Would never go back

We were on our way back from Kruger and decided we needed a steak. Only place open at such an early hour (17:45) was Kuka Cafe. They were super-diligent on COVID regulations and very friendly and Douglas our waiter was great. The mandatory steaks were excellent (T-bone and pepper rump) - what a lovely surprise considering we originally pulled into this little shopping center seeking the steakhouse which was closed.

Went for both dinner and breakfast. Creative and varied dishes, all tasty and well prepared. Kudu filet was ample and delicious. Snack platter of wings, onion rings, ribs and chips doesn't sound exciting but it was fabulous. Good wines on the menu. Desserts were sweet and appealing. Breakfast was well priced and selection was good. Classic benedict holds up to those found in the U.S. Coffees and milkshakes are recommended.

This restaurant is a superb restaurant and has a great selection of high quality foods. We have eaten here for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The staff are great - Douglas served us for dinner and Patience for breakfast, they are always interested in you and provide a wonderful service. The setting of the restaurant is good but the quality of the food is superb and certainly we will retrurn when wee are in the area.

Much to my surprise this small restaurant also offers some excellent Japanese dishes. With a good chenin blanc on the side we very much enjoyed the prawn tempura and several maki tuna and maki prawn. Good and friendly service and my compliments to the chef for this excellent lunch. Suggest making your sushi and sashimi offering more noticeable on your site. Highly recommended and in my view an excellent alternative for all the good steaks that we enjoyed around Hazyview.

Firstly let's start by saying the burgers were very good and the wine was nicely chilled. Pity the overall experience wasn't great. It started when we had booked an outside table on the deck and the only one available was next to the entrance. Then we were seated, handed food menus and asked what we wanted. We hadn't even opened the menus. Next up was a 5 minute wait for the wine list and then neither of our first 2 choices were in stock. We settled the charade by asking what was available and ordered accordingly. Not surprisingly all the higher priced wine was available. Final straw was the disappearance of our waitress when we wanted the bill. Would have made a complaint but there was no manager on site.

The food was truly lovely and the restaurant has gorgeous design. Not often that restaurants get poached eggs perfectly done like this. Thank you to Smangele for her excellent service! Perfect stop outside the Kruger when you’ve had enough of braai!

We've been going to Kuka, pretty much since it opened, every time we are on holiday close to the Kruger National Park. Over a period of many years, whether breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the food and service has been consistently excellent. So much so that we no longer bother with any other restaurants in the area. On our last trip, August 2023, we had dinner and breakfast there probably seven or eight times over the course of two weeks: whether it was their excellent steaks, unbelievably good Salmon trout, fresh Sushi, or simply a burger or pizza, the experience was great. I'd specifically call out Nomvela and Patience as two waitrons who paid attention to detail and made our times there pleasant. Finally, if you love your coffee, this is a great place to get your morning shot!
