The food is well prepared and not tasting bad at all. The menu options is a bit limited and mainly focused on either plated sosatie or wrap. The food takes a bit long when just ordered at opening time

Beautiful location, gorgeous food, excellent service. But horrible atmosphere. For some strange reason the manager/head chef stands at the pass hollering every order repeatedly to the kitchen staff. Honestly could not hear anything for 90 minutes besides his shouting. Very occasionally a bit of lovely green music would break through. But it was rare and far in between. Feel very sorry for the poor staff who have to work with him. Sadly made the entire experience very unpleasant. Oh and did I mention the same man spent most of the evening vaping in the middle of the restaurant. Probably would’ve been perfect if we could sit outside and didn’t have to listen to the racket, but since it was raining, it was not possible. Left the restaurant with a headache.

We visit this esablishment as my wife my loves it and enjoys the lamb ribs especially. I personally have tried a few options and am yet to be set alight. Last one was the cheese and mushroom burger which I found most disappointing. and the patty was not what it was billed to be. I am quite likely to be shot for presenting a negative reveiw but i am afarid that this is how I feel. The service is excellent but the noise is a factor -- but again a suppose a nosiy environment is condusive to a Greek eatery.

We chose to go to Nikos due to its proximity of the hotel we were staying, we like Greek food so a plus plus, it was very busy and we thought it’s going to be a long wait, a waitress asked if the table nearby would be suitable who’d say no when the restaurant is so busy. We chose the waitress took the order, the drinks came promptly followed by the appetiser, a loverly taramasalata, followed by the main course Skinny Pork Chops, it was delicious, all the staff are super efficient and equally friendly, we asked to reserve a table for the following evening, the waitress advised it was Greek Night and very noisy we didn’t mind. The following evening Nikos was packed the waitress showed us to the same table and said you have the best view, it was a terrific evening with traditional Greek music, a belly dancer and diner participation we throughly enjoyed the evening, the food is excellent here with great staff, should we ever visit Ballito again we would definitely go.

Lovely atmosphere, but unfortunately the food was below average. Kingklip was dry and overcooked, and was Luke warm when served. Same for the prawns. The food did not taste fresh, more like frozen just before cooking - and pretty expensive. A real shame, but I would not recommend this place for seafood.

For Sunday lunch, we decided to visit the NIKOS Greek restaurant for a Greek experience. The owner took a liking to us and very kindly offered my wife Jenny a blanket for her shoulders as to porch was a bit windy. We wanted to sit at the railing for a nice sea view. When the corner table came vacant he then moved us there, still at the railing, but shielded more from the wind. I asked him for some recommendations for a real Greek Experience, and he pointed out some items for starters and Mains.
After about 5 minutes he brought us a complimentary bowl of Pita bread – piping hot, with 3 of their dips to try, there was a Tzatziki, a Hummus and a chilly one – they were all very tasty, with the Chilli my favorite . After our samples, and following the owners suggestions, we decided to share some Halloumi Cheese for starters, which was delicious. For mains Jenny had 2 Slouvlaki – one pork and one chicken - and I went for their signature dish, the Skinny Lamb chops, which came with baked potatoes and a mustard based dip.
We really enjoyed the friendliness of the establishment and had great service from Morgan. An excellent meal in a great setting. They also have a paraplegic parking in front of the door and a ramp down the side for those not comfortable with the stairs.

Nikos is one of our families all time favourite Ballito restaurant. When my family member wanted to thank us for her stay with us, Nikos was the obvious choice! Sadly it was most disappointing! Two of us had the moussaka, which was tasteless, the eggplant was not evident and the texture was lacking it was like eating "baby food" ...and served with some anomalous chopped cabbage!?!? My husband had the skinny lamb chops, which he has enjoyed many times before! His words were they were dry and tasteless! Our waitress was very friendly and experienced, which was a huge+! The restaurant was not very busy as we arrived at 5.pm. Did not want to cause a fuss in front of our hostess, but felt awful that we had suggested this restaurant! Just soooo disappointed at the quality of the food at Nikos at the start of 2023!!

Really enjoyed our meal. The pita used for the dips and yiro souvlakia was fresh and tasty. Loved the tzatziki and tarama. The chips were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Although we didn’t have any cocktails, they looked nice. If you manage to get a seat on the deck, it’s got a stunning view of the sea.

Its a mediteranean restaurant that looks and feels the part. Nice music, decor and ambience. My wife and I have been there about 4 times. Initially, about 2 years ago or so, we loved the food and the whole experience. Recently we have been quite disappointed with the food. It has more of a steakhouse chain feel than a greek restaurant. We've tried quite a few seafood dishes and came away disappointed each time. The Greek flavours are not there anymore. Food, from chips to prawns, to lamb..etc is liberally sprinkled with sharp, one flavour fits all foods,barbecue spicing which overpowers the taste of the food completely. For me, the restaurant should get back to its roots of cooking decent Greek food without smothering it in spices.

Was a bit average for us - we came as a family and our kids were starving so it was a quick visit.
I ordered a standard Yiro but was disappointed in that the meat filling was tepid and in my opinion chunked too thick so it fell apart while trying to eat it.
It also came with nothing on the side which perhaps was my mistake but a hit of a surprise when it arrived.
That said the view is great and the staff were friendly

We were looking for something different as we have tried most other restaurants over the years coming to Ballito. So I convinced the family that we should give Nikos a go. Setting and view is amazing. Our waitress was friendly (at first) but the poor lady was stretched to far running between various tables trying to serve the tables. The bar was slow and drinks took forever to be served. The starters were fine. As for the main meals portions were small. Calamari small portion with loads of chips. The other big problem was the food arrived cold. But meantime everybody is running around the restaurant to attend to everybody. We did not have desert by the time we saw the waitress again all we wanted was the bill so we could leave. This all said and done I will try them again maybe just out of holiday season.

We were pleasantly surprised when we visited Nikos for the first time. The setting is absolutely beautiful with a fantastic atmosphere. The food is exceptionally good and with the nice selection of wines, very well priced. The beer on tap is a bonus!
The only shortcoming is slow service as a result of a full restaurant. We will be back!

Ordered the mixed platter for two. This includes 2 lamb chops. One of the lamb chops was not even half a centimeter thick! I could not belief that they would send a 50gram chop out of the kitchen!
I showed it to the manager, who then tried to justify it! She did not make any attempt to rectify the problem! She took the platter.
We waited, and the waiter then communicated that they are busy fixing the problem. 20minutes later the waiter came back and then apologized, informing us that nothing is being done by management! We requested our bill.
Balito has many great restaurants to go to - Nikos will never see me again.

BESIDES the amazingly gorgeous location that fits in perfectly with the gorgeous interiors of this restaurant. The entrance tiles... the stone flooring on the main area... the basket weave lights..... The service was Impeccable and fast. But what totally floored me was their Pavlova It was indescribable

Beautiful setting right on the beach, wonderful service, tasty food. And the owner Yannis overlooking it all to make sure all is well. I had the kingklip - grilled to perfection with a sauce that enhanced, rather then overwhelmed the taste of the fish; and my wife had the brinjal stack and the zucchini fries. And relaxed sipping ouzo with crushed ice as we watched the waves roll in. Could be no better way to spend a lazy, sunny Sunday afternoon.
