Terrible coffee. Food is really not great. Pretty bad actually. A real shame as it's a nice location and has the potential to be amazing. Like a lot of places in Grahamstown.

Nothing special about this place.Everything about the place is average. There are a lot better place to go to in Grahamstown for lunch or just a coffee

a perfect place to sit and rest and have a meal or something to drink. From the quiet outside area one can sit and watch the daily life in Grahamtown

Myself and a colleague popped into Madhatters for a breakfast bite and a drink. Its small inside but there is enough room to be comfortable. It has some interesting art work as one would imagine with a name like Madhatters, and yes there is a rabbit hole. There are outdoor tables available. I had a chicken and mayo toasted sandwich,... An unusual experience – decorated in the theme of the Madhatters Tea Party, complete with “mad hats” hanging from the ceiling. An extensive menu covers everything from snacks, toasted sandwiches, to steaks. Daily specials are very reasonable, with everything from fish dishes to stews. This is a popular venue form Grahamstonians and at lunchtime you can’t always be sure of... More

Had a by chance meeting there. Good place to to feel comfortable. Food is great for what it is. There is not much one can do wrong with a toasted sandwich, but presentation can make it special.

Popped into Madhatters for coffee and scones. Coffee was served lukewarm, scones where more like muffins than scones - generally disappointing.

Popped in for a quick bite, the place was jam packed. We were served quickly and got what we ordered. Interesting decor.

We enjoyed our lunch, the food was of good quality and price. Not a fine dining experience, but certainly worth while.
