This is a lovely little place at the top of the main street. The coffee is great but the service is quite slow.

Not too bad for the meal and coffee on our trip down south. Close to Caroline bay where the carnival is happening.

My girlfriend and I stopped for a quick snack for breakfast...the poached eggs and coffee were to die for, a truly homecooked breakfast! The atmosphere was just lovely...warm friendly staff Gorgeous little café with white, purple and green flowers to match the decor.

Popped in while walking through the town on a mid Saturday afternoon, and thankfully this place was open ... and there was a spare table outside. The staff were very friendly and took my rather basic order of two flat whites promptly. They were delivered with the same cheerfulness, and we sat, sipping the good strong coffee while enjoying the... More

If you are in Timaru, do yourself a favor and eat at the Purple Lizard. Or, just go to Timaru so that you can eat at the Purple Lizard. It is that good. And, if you must eat gluten free, this is the place for you. The owner thinks "gluten free." If you love and eat gluten, don't worry, the... More

I've read the good reviews, however the food and service during our visit here could only be described as average. Pros: the environment is quirky, there's a good range of meal options and the coffee is excellent. Cons: the prices are fairly high ($9 for one bagel, $16 for a dull burger, etc.) and the service was wooden. Just a... More

This is like visiting a place from last century well and truly. Even the food is old skool big time. Wodgy. But the coffee's good and it's served pleasantly. I avoid the food.
