While this is a rather classic dive bar they have the best halibut fish and chips I've had at a great price. Not a place I enjoy hanging out in though.

Best fish and chips in Juneau. Normally don't get halibut fish and chips in a rest, I would prefer to make my own. Great breading and amazing pieces of halibut. Fries compliment well although the onion rings and fried mushrooms are delicious as well. Definitely a place frequented by locals.

Nice dive bar outside of town close to the airport. Friendly bartenders and locals, and the best halibut and chips I ever had

Great food and wonderful service! The menu had lots of offerings and choices. The hustle and bustle of the restaurant was contagious in a good way!

Bar is a fun stop. nice owners and helpers. Live music sometimes and fun dance music and customers. Delicious seafood meals. They know what fresh seafood means. Fun stop and play.

Really a funky kind of place, but they serve the best deep-fried halibut in Juneau. Also incredible nachos. The restaurant entrance is in the back of the building so you don't have to go to a bar to get great halibut. Also no need to dress up for this place. Nice.

Heard about this place from some other tourists that stumbled across it. As mentioned by others here, it's the classic dive with excellent food. The halibut fish and chips were lightly breaded to perfection, and made just right. The young ladies behind the counter were nice, and took time to explain the options (halibut and salmon and chips combo sounded... More

We had heard they had the best fish and chips, but it was only good, not amazing. It is a little bit off the beaten trail and a very local place. We have had better on Vancouver Island.

If you're looking for great fried Halibut take the 15 minute trip away from downtown and enjoy. Fries are perfect. Split in two with a bar it's a great place to eat and watch a game or play pool.

Fresh Halibut and Fresh Coho Salmon!!! It was served with fries and cold slaw. The server was Mary and she was delightful and had excellent recommendations. This was her part-time job on Sunday. The Sand Bar is out of Juneau a few miles But totally worth it!!!
