Stayed here in Jan 2020, good relax days in the island and great food of all time. My wife is vegetarian and the head chef was kind enough to meet us every meal and made sure perfection on whatever she asked for, and I choose from the menu every meal; the food was fantastic, the salmon with crunchy cauliflower, beef tenderloin and pumpkin ravioli a must try dishes in the menu, A simple and well presented dishes with good portions, hats off to Chef and his team. The wait employees were kind and the view was awesome too. Our overall experience was great and thanks to all of them to take care of us.

This place was lovely, staff were very friendly especially Joe.
My partner had sashimi and I had spicy chicken pancake rolls which were delicious. The view from the eating area was stunning the only drawback is the price. Our light lunch for two cost $108 so for a family this could be pricey.

The food is worse than average for the price (most expensive on the island)- fish over salted and scallops being a tiny portion. But the main thing that spoiled the evening for us was the way they give tables to guests. When we came for dinner the restaurant was empty, we did prebook (came there earlier especially) and we were given a table in the middle of the dark stuffy room while all the balcony tables with a view were obviously all empty. We asked for a table on the balcony but we were told that it’s their rule to give them only to the hotel guests. I tried again explaining that we will leave soon and that I feel really uncomfortable being seated as I am but it didn’t matter for them. There were other people coming later (not many though) and they were all given even worst tables than ours. Our only wish was to eat as fast as we could and leave, so we could still catch a bit of sunset - ridiculous situation! I am really sorry for the lost time and money. And when we were leaving all the balcony tables were still empty. This is such a disrespect for people who chose to eat there and drove or took taxi to get to Rapae bay. I can’t imagine why this restaurant is so guest unfriendly but I really wouldn’t recommend it if you don’t want to spoil your evening. Being on Cook’s islands is mainly for its beautiful nature and sunset sea view is priceless. Too bad the priciest restaurant here doesn’t understand this ...

Kia Orana Tatianaa266,
Thank you for your feedback on your recent visit to our Rapae Bay Restaurant.
It is a shame to learn of your overall disappointment with your dining experience via TripAdvisor rather than on the night of your visit when we could have more effectively addressed your concerns. We encourage all our guest to voice their dissatisfaction immediately and if necessary request to speak with the manager on duty. We are in the hospitality business and our goal is to deliver on absolute guest satisfaction. For a guest to walk away unhappy is not acceptable to us and all our managers know we must do whatever is reasonably possible to ensure the guest experience is positive.
Had we known of your issues with the seasoning of your food the issue would have been rectified on the spot and without fuss. Our starter Scallop portion is that, a starter. The scallops come from New Zealand, the pancetta from Italy, our chefs the very best and experienced in the country and all served to a 5 star standard, so like most items on our menu we do charge a premium over most establishments in the Cook Islands.
From your feedback it is also evident that one of our junior line staff may have misinformed you in regards to our seating policy - we do not exclusively reserve any of our restaurant seating space for in-house guest but rather our house guests are encouraged to book their dining needs ahead of time for their entire stay and this is why it is difficult at times to gain access to specific areas of the restaurant but not because we have a different standard of service for resident guests.
As a result on the night you dined with us, all our balcony tables were reserved, some of them from weeks prior, to both our in-house and outside guests. When tables are allocated, a few things are taken into consideration from the booking; when the booking was made, any special requests, the number of guests and the time of the booking. What can happen is the guest may not be punctual, creating the illusion tables are not in use.
We understand our guest have different tastes and preferences when it comes to food, drink, decor, seating, etc. Whilst try our absolute best to meet and exceed expectations we also have a realistic understanding that this may not always be achievable 100% of the time. When we fall short, we also try our best to recover but it is very important as a guest to not walk away unhappy but instead insist to speak to the manager on duty and not accept the front-line server response you feel it is not good enough.
If you are still on the island I would love to hear from you and discuss you experience in more detail. My email address is restaurant.aitutaki@pacifcresort.com or you can call 31720 and ask for James.

Had eaten at the Black Rock bar in the same resort for lunch which was very nice food, so thought we would spoil our self on our last night and eat in the Rapae Bay, we were not staying at the Pacific Resort where these restaurants are located.
We were sat at the front of the restaurant near where you are met and taken too your table so there was a lot of foot traffic around us people going to the bar, toilet, in and out of the restaurant.
There was a male Maitre D working in the restaurant chatting with guests at their tables, seemed to chat only with certain tables that he wonted too, and not working the whole floor making sure everyone was catered for and all was ok, during the time we were there restaurant was not fully booked, and plenty of staff.
Food was very disappointing for the price we paid,
For starters, we had belly of pork which was very nice and salt n pepper squid which was very chewy we did not finish that.
Mains, I had a $40 rib eye steak with garlic butter which was tough to cut with a steak knife, had no veg apart from small roast potatoes which was a seperate choice, you could only pick one or had to pay extra!!!,
my partner had the special fried rice which was average the take away down the road did a better fried rice at the fraction of the cost.
Overall very disappointing meal for such a nice restaurant, would definitely think twice before going again or reccomending to fellow travellers

The restaurant at Pacific Resort Aitutaki serves up excellent a la carte dishes. They try to make most of the locally grown fruit and vegetables, not much I must admit, but for meat and to some extent sea food they rely on supply ship that comes from NZ on a regular basis. Due to absence of agricultural land and the small population much of the food supplies have to be imported. Despite this the meat and fish we had was excellent and very well presented. Highly recommended

We were not guests at the resort but chose to have dinner here several times while staying elsewhere on the island, as this was simply the best place to eat! There was no problem with booking a table either. The location is gorgeous and the restaurant is an outdoor-but-covered set up, with quality fittings, refined atmosphere and glorious lagoon views from every table. Did not seem to be a place that families brought their children, so it was a quiet, adult only event each night. Prices are on the higher side as you would expect, but every meal was delicious and beautifully prepared, and the service was superb. It was a real treat to relax and dine in this quality setting. Bonus was the views of the sunset each night - we have great memories of sipping our cocktails in the warm glow of the setting sun.

We were 5 night guests at the resort and chose to take all of our meals at the restaurant. The food is first-class and this is exceeded only by the stunning views and the hospitality and personalition thst we received from the hospitality staff. They take great pride in their work and aimed to provide us with an exceptional dining experience. Which they did.
We did not need luch as the breakfast (part of modt packeges) and dinner were sufficient for our needs. The prices of food are competitively priced but we were prepared to pay for quality, that is why we chose to stay at the Racific resort. We look forward to our next visit and we will probably follow a similar dining pattern. Ngaa mihi nunui ki ngaa ringawera. He tohunga manaaki koutou katoa. Thanks to all the hospitality staff who all excelled in their craft.

More on the higher end of dining, this restaurant at the Pacific Resort is well worth including in your dinner plans
Site - Outdoor dining overlooking the sunset on a hut with panoramic views. This is further complemented by lush gardens and an infinity pool. Wow!
Service - Professional yet friendly
Food - MahiMahi steak | Squid | Fish burger | Sashimi all of which were on point 💯
The restaurant certainly delivers as you’d expect from a top end resort and is worth visiting for its uniqueness

We were staying a two minute walk away from the resort and ate here three times and enjoyed our meals every time. However, one meal out was for our wedding annivesary and we have to thank the staff for making our night very special. Although we were not in-house guest, they found a spot for us on the balcony with spectacular views over the lagoon and ocean. Enjoyed a sumptious meal which was topped off by our desserts (a coconut trio and the chocolate lava cake). The lava cake was adorned with anniversary wishes, completing our meal in a very memorable way. As a side note, the wine list is extensive and somewhat dangerous (too many good bottles to choose from!).

Dined here twice while on Aitutaki for 10 days. A real treat for quality service and a bit of dining variety.
Great to get Antipodes sparkling water as you will find getting any bubbly or soda water a challenge at times on the island. But hey they are getting going again. Lovely cocktails and stunning service.
Food is varied in price and size. Alot of fresher choices and varied to other spots on island. I would call the food good to very good. Great presentation.
Definitely a beautiful setting with the best sunset gazing.
Even if on a budget, treat yourself. The coconut trio dessert a friend had was stunning.

Of our meals here. The breakfast was always very filling, generous and delicious.
My partner had the eggs Benedict every morning and I tried a few different meals. Granola, pancakes also and omelettes all delicious. Lunch and dinner menu are the same and have a nice variety and all delicious with good portion sizes. Def recommend as food will never disappoint here.
The service was amazing, everyone is so friendly and warm welcoming as well as you will never be waiting long here for your meals.

Overall, the food and service were excellent, and we received very personalized service – a special thanks to Baldwin for always remembering our name and taking great care of us!
The location just couldn’t be better on the open verandah with a stunning view of the lagoon.
The complimentary breakfast was extensive, providing a choice of a continental-style breakfast, a cooked breakfast, or both. We enjoyed the eggs benedict so much that we ordered it two days in a row. The cafe latte (also included in the complimentary breakfast) had great flavor—the best coffee we had during our visit to the Cook Islands.
Both nights, we ordered from the nightly dinner specials menu and enjoyed a selection of fish, steak, and pasta dishes. The wine list had a good variety of NZ wines at a range of prices.
You can’t beat the view, service, and food!

We had dinner here a number of times during our stay in Aitutaki. The food was delicious & as a coeliac (requiring gluten free food) I was very well taken care of & the staff clearly knew what they were talking about which was fantastic. There was always a great variety of dishes to choose from & they all tasted amazing! The staff were so friendly, helpful & polite which absolutely added to having a great dining experience. We will definitely return when we are back in Aitutaki next 😊
