We were with a party of 8 people. The food at Grano de Oro is great. Without an exception. The ambiance and service are a bit formal. You need to like that. Great for business meetings but not my 'social' place.

I like the lay out of the restaurant, with tables made of bamboo and glass on top, umbrella, and each table is decorated with tropical flower, in a sinking type floor in the center of the restaurant. It has the European style looks and atmosphere....More

Costa Rica is a very informal place. He will not need a jacket but I would not go there in shorts during dinner. But otherwise no one will bother you if you wear jeans or other informal wear.
