Please don't come here for typical Costa Rican fare. We saw cockroaches near the kitchen. Our server was condescending, tried to upsell us and it felt like pulling teeth when we asked for suggestions. The ambiance is interesting but the food is poor compared to other restaurants that serve simple typical fare and you could tell that nobody cares about... More

The guacamole and salsa are reasonable, I had a beef steak that was quite tasty and tender. On second trip we ordered some nachos which were not edible. Who in the world puts cold, canned cheese on cold chips and serves them that way? Yuck. Overall- if you need a quick snack an a beer.. this place works. Don't take... More

After reading the reviews I was expecting great food and service. The food was average and I thought the service was below average. The server was barely around and when I did get his attention, I felt like I was inconveniencing him. Nonetheless, I'll give him the benefit out the doubt and just say it was an average experience rather... More

I was a little skeptical when I saw pics and read some of the reviews. I love this place, the food is authentic and the vibe is amazing. Don't get dressed up, it's more casual and a quick bit kind of joint. We had black beans and rice with chicken and steak. The price was really reasonable $30 for two... More

Nice place to eat Some local food , the only reason I'm giving 4 is cause I went there around 9:00pm and from all the menu they only had like 4 dishes available , it was a little bit disappointed but overall it's good

I caught this place toward the end of my trip and it managed to surprise my even after seven days of eating Latin food. The atmosphere was great and the coffee was perfect.

Great casado and refrescas! This was the second best casado i had in CR. Very close to the Central Market and lots of fresh fruits and veggies. Lots of Ticos inside eating and talking.

La Casona and Nuestra Tierra are very similar in style and type of food. I would skip Nuestra Tierra and try La Casona only. For the price, you can get over the service, which was terrible. Waiters seem to be in a hurry and were arguing about who should take what table...with us in the middle. Our waiter was not... More

Different from many places I've been... calm and easy going atmosphere inside while it's just a couple steps away from the busy San Jose. Old style deco and a bit dim if you ask me but the food won't let you down... If you are looking for the old traditional costarican cuisine but lack the time to go out of... More
