Nice little spot in La fortuna geared to the tourists. We had Nachos and cold beer. It was good. Just what you might expect from such a place.

We enjoyed a dinner here. The chicken and rice dinner was very tasty. The cerveza felt good as well. Good Bohemian feel for this place.
Me, my husband and our dog Bella stayed in La Fortuna for a week. We came here for breakfast and dinner and reggae night! We love the food, atmosphere and especially the service. The owner, Chef Scott, is a great person. Besides running this restaurant, he runs the Costa Rican dog rescue. He also has another restaurant, Geckos Waterfall and... More
So we only popped in to try some local alcoholic beverages. The place shows a sign saying a percentage of the proceeds go to helping the dogs of Costa Rica. Can't go wrong in our book there. But the kitty finds us and melts the cat lovers in us. She decided it was fine to take a nap while we... More
We loved the party atmosphere that was still appropriate with my 8 year old present. We actually ate at the Lava Lounge two nights in a row and avoided the pricey mediocre hotel restaurant food. It was worth the $13 cab fare to come to Lava Lounge instead. Food was great - Guac & Chips appetizer was really yummy. Very... More
The Lava Lounge is the social center to La Fortuna for travelers. In addition to having a big variety of great food, the staff is friendly and happy to recommend fun things to do. The owner Scott is friendly and happy to chat. You will see many of the local guides hanging out there. Don't miss this fun and delicious... More
This place looks like a fun place to hang out but it did not get very lively while we were there. This was one of the very few places in Costa Rica that we really struggled to get gluten-free, vegan food. The service was not at all friendly or helpful. Would not recommend this place.
We visited on April 11th mainly for the craft beer selection and to grab a bite to eat. Good selection of craft beer and lots of food options. We had the chicken burrito and the Arroz con Pollo. Both dishes were good and satisfying in terms of portion. Great casual ambiance in the restaurant and good place for people watching... More
