We were traveling to Tuscaloosa to move my daughter into her dorm. I checked on line to find a Sunday morning breakfast brunch for all of the family. This one seemed like a good choice...we didn't get the brunch, but it was a good late breakfast. We had a little of an issue trying to find the parking in the... More

We stumbled onto this local restaurant while looking for a place to take our son to breakfast. We were thrilled with it! We had the pancakes (homemade batter), steak and eggs, bacon and eggs, grits, biscuits (homemade), and these amazing potato skins. There was not a bite of food left on our plates. If you are in Tuscaloosa, you really... More

If you are looking for a real southern breakfast, this is the place. They have mouthwatering biscuits, grits, eggs and very good smoked sausage. Took my family here and had a great meal.

The Waysider has been a staple in Tuscaloosa for many years. We ate there when I was young, through college and now as a returning alum. Their biscuits remain the best in the world (literally) and they recently introduced beignet's. The decor remains the same with the regular addition of Alabama Football prints. The staff adds to the experience with... More

This truly is the best breakfast in town. Tiny building with very limited seating and it is hidden behind other buildings, but definitely worth getting in.

The waysider offers great down home charm. It is small and be prepared to wait for seating. The wait is well worth it. You will experience some of the best southern biscuits and gravy ever for breakfast! The fried ham and scrambled eggs with red eye gravy are to die for. The bacon is pretty awesome too.

Cozy place with friendly wait staff, and the most delicious biscuits. If you are looking for "gourmet" food, this is not your place. If you want a "down home" Southern experience, this is it! I have only eaten breakfast there, can't comment about lunch.

Bear Bryant used to eat here! Just an old-fashion breakfast before time for my doctors appointment. We loved it!

Great biscuits and standard breakfast fare. Nothing fancy about the food or the place. Very crowded, tight and cozy. It's all part of the charm. Oddly, they have a bunch of Bama stuff in there, but I still try to go any time we are in town.

If you are visiting and want grits, go here. Scratch biscuits with "eggs any style". There is always a line but go hungry.
