Best Indian in Shanghai

Authentic and delicious food! Friendly and accommodating service! Great location and plenty of room for groups as well as smaller more intimate tables for couples.

Great Indian restaurant in Shanghai.

Food was hot fresh and delicious. Ordered palak paneer, Geera rice, garlic naan and chai. Had big meal, big plates of paneer and rice. Had 4pcs of big size garlic naan,was good as well. The chai (tea) was so so 7/10 have no sugar at all and I should put by myself, usually I prefer the sugar will cooked together with the chai pot, anyhow , quantity was big, about 2 cups. Overall Leo scale: 8.5/10

Staffs are very generous and kindly, food was excellent, I took 5 meals in three days this restaurant, it's feeling likes home food.

Disappointing experience due to deteriorating standards

Visited for dinner during business trip to Shanghai. Its popular amongst the Indian tourist and gets crowded. Better to get table booked in advance. Owner has built relationship with frequent visitors. Food taste has been deteriorating and tastes more of masala and water without being properly cooked. Even basic dishes such as Dal & burji were not cooked properly and tasted very bad. Seating ambience is decent and service is pathetic. Very poor customer orientation and staff focus is just to get things done. They accept but don't follow cooking or service instructions. This was my fourth visit,Have visited during every visit to Shanghai though the latest one was after 5 years. Wouldn't recommend for authentic Indian food but can visit for average food and service incase you are craving for Indian food in Shanghai.

Horrible service

Horrible waiting service. After trying for 15 minutes to get somebody’s attention, three waiters just walked away after our request to order and never came back. Finally, we were able to grab somebody who hardly understood English. After repeating the order three times our drinks finally arrived. It took another 15 minutes for some poppadums to arrive. Dipping sauce was not provided, so we needed to ask. Three rounds of drinks later the main course still did not arrive. As we sat in the restaurant for over an hour now, inquired at the manager when our food would finally arrive. He responded in a very unpleasant way that we only ordered 20 minutes ago. I explained that that was not true as we already had three rounds of drinks. I sat down and this horrible guy came to our table to say again that we only just ordered and we should be happy we’d get our food so fast. Really, forgetting an order and then arguing with your guest twice? Remarkably, our order appeared within minutes. The food was just ok. With such a horrible service and attitude I can only advise to avoid this place.

I am sure the virus has hit them but yet another great visit - even if I only make it once a year. Their wines never disappoint and their starters make me at least not want to progress to mains - that's why I never touch them! If you go there and the boss is in, see if you can spot his picture on the wall?

Amazing Indian food with great customer service

I have been a huge of fan of Bollywood Indian restaurant for years now. After my recent visit I thought I must review it here about the amazing food and best customer service i get everytime I am here. The first impression you get walking in always has been positive for me.it can both accommodate inside and outside dinning space where we can enjoy our meal comfortably. I see it as one of the best and preferred Indian restaurant in Shanghai. restaurant also provides large space to have get together, we can have all sought of party and it is definitely a preferred place to have client lunches/dinner. I have been here multiple times and customer service you get each time beats my expectation on every visit. Love the non veg food and my best had been the keema mutter which one should definitely try. Owner KK' Ji is such a lovely and down to earth person. Makes friends easily and can make endless and happy conversation.

Best in Indian Restaurant in Shanghai!

Bollywood Indian Restaurant is by far the best Indian Restaurant! The food is always cooked fresh and tastes so good! Has a real taste of Indian spices. You can also order Chinese food which is just as good. Im from the UK and fly a lot to Shanghai with work, and I must say it’s difficult to find a restaurant in China. I’ve recommended this restaurant to my work colleagues who always go back to it! 😄 Staff are so friendly especially KK the owner and Sadar who go out of their way to speak to you. Just need to open a Bollywood in Abu Dhabi now KK 🇦🇪👌

THe best Indian Restaurant!

I started to love Indian food from the time I first tried in Bollywood! Personal is so kind and good, always listen to you and ready to help! I always ask them to do without spice even if the food is spicy. Menu is very bird and has a lot of choices. Suitable for vegetarians! and not only salads a lot of variety of food! LOve this place so much and highly recommend it to everyone!!

The best experience in Shanghai china

This was my first visit in Shanghai and in Bollywood Indian restaurant also so I just wanna share some informations. Bollywood Indian restaurant is only place where you get best food even better than any other restaurants in India amazing hospitality amazing staff every one so friendly, helpful. The food is so delicious veg. And non veg both perfect sitting arrangements and the best thing of restaurant is fully Bollywood atmosphere every where pictures of Bollywood super stars once you entered in restaurant you didn't feel for a second that you are out of India. In short the only best place in Shanghai

I ate veg but nonveg food is also available. Menus same as in any north Indian restaurant like veg kadai, veg kolhapuri,yellow/black dal, paneer n many types of rotis. Pakodas n Indian style tea.Quality is very good. Rates ok considering Shanghai standard. Service is very good if not too crowded. You can also get parcel service enabling light travel. Indian waiters speak Hindi, English and Punjabi. Big TV screen with Indian music channel n cricket. If you are lucky you can see live Punjabi dance. Owner KK is friendly with customers n he can try to serve you with food even if you are too late / have limited time. You can just order over phone , wecchat. Meet Indian crowd for networking. Visit at least once n experience.
