We were lucky to walk right in a get a table without a reservation because it did seem quite popular. We got chicken with peppers and cashews, spicy bok choy, and greens and eggplant. It was overall good. Service was fast and pleasant. Cool place...More

So right next door to Sichuan Citizen in Donghu Road is a massage shop - its proper. I can never recall the name, but if you ask the hotel staff to google the address, they always find it as both Sihuan Citizen and the massage...More

Came with some co workers. Really good food. Somehow we got a dish of bull frogs which I skipped. All other food was nice and spicy which I liked. Basil drink was very good.

As Americans, we are more sensitive to spicy foods. This restaurant offered great Sichuan dishes while keeping the spice to a minimum. Friendly staff and good food. Also, the neighborhood was great as well. Good for tourists!

The food was good although not great. The service was rather perfunctory, bordering on somewhat rude. The ambience was nice downstairs, but whatever you do, don't sit upstairs as there is totally no atmosphere. This is where you come for sichuan/chinese food for expats.

This place was always busy whenever we went. We never booked, but they always found us a table. The draft beer was ok but the food was always a delight. We only went for the food on the menu with one chilli sign by it....More

Former French Concession
While there are technical borders to the area formerly
governed by the French in Shanghai, the "French
Concession" of today is an amorphous neighborhood that
is a favorite of the city's foreign residents. While
it is mostly within the Xuhui district, residents will
sometimes include parts of Jing'an and Luwan in their
mental maps of the Former French Concession. The area
seems frozen in time, characterized by quiet,
