Shanghai means for most business people long and hectic days. At Kaiba you can get back into a total relaxing environment ,and enjoy some of the world's greatest beers on draft, besides another 100 in bottles. The same goes for the food, mostly western with a touch of asian, fresh and well prepaired Despite all the rumours, let's hope that Kaiba will continue with... More

Have been here several times for their Saturday and Sunday brunch and I love it. It is a really nice place to go with friends, family or whoever you want to go with. They have a great selection of very tasty food and great beers (they even offer a free-flow beer flatrate until 3 p.m. for a reasonable amount of... More

It's a bar with a good selection of mainly bottled beers 🍻. Mainly Belgian and American. There are a few on tap. I think they could do mor e to support local breweries. There is an outside courtyard which is pretty rustic as are the toilets. There are better places.

I spent my Sunday eating brunch at Alaina and let me tell you it's worth the new menu and drink specials. For an extra 98 RMB you can enjoy free flow drinks with your meal. Have fun!

Kaiba has a large selection of good beers. It was nice to sit on the patio and people watch. Most of the beers are from abroad.

I went plenty of time in Kaiba in Tianzifang (they have 3 locations in total and they are going to open more) for lunch/dinner and meeting with friends. You can eat nice burgers and above all drink good beers. They have a really good selection and they promote a free flow for 3 hours paying a small amount.

A large group of expats went here for Free Flow brunch. Starts at 1130am and they don't kick you out until 330pm. All you can drink Stella beer (and other types). It was about 190RMB and included a breakfast entree. I had eggs Benedict and it was yummy. Service was slow but there was like 20 of us.

I remember coming here at the beginning of the summer to say goodbye to a friend who was moving for a new job and I always remembered about going back. On a Sunday cool evening it was nice to have a great beer with a snack as the week was coming to an end. Chill spot.

Great variety of Belgian beers at reasonable price, and they also serve food. With the beer you get a nice portion of Belgian fries. I mean Belgian, not the French fries.

Description
. In 2008, 2009 and 2011, Kaiba has opened 3 locations under its own name. Kaiba, Belgian Beer Bar, Kaiba, Belgian Beer Garden and Kaiba Tap House. All of these locations are focused on bringing the tradition, quality and selection of Belgian Beer to Shanghais undeserved premium beer market, encouraging choice and quality in a welcoming and comfortable environment that meets the needs of Chinese and Expats.

The position we have taken for our first concepts is in the premium import beer market, provided customers with the opportunity to experience the largest selection of highest quality beers available in Shanghai.

Staying in Former French Concession

Neighbourhood Profile
Former French Concession
While there are technical borders to the area formerly governed by the French in Shanghai, the "French Concession" of today is an amorphous neighborhood that is a favorite of the city's foreign residents. While it is mostly within the Xuhui district, residents will sometimes include parts of Jing'an and Luwan in their mental maps of the Former French Concession. The area seems frozen in time, characterized by quiet, tree-lined avenues, French-style villas, interesting boutiques, lively bars and quaint cafes that are not typical of China. All of these mix and mingle with local life as Chinese markets and lanehouse communities are peppered throughout. Denizens of the Former French Concession can spectate a mahjong game on the street or get their bike checked at a tiny bike repair store on the way to their refurbished apartment tucked away among Chinese family homes.
