I was really impressed with the food in this restaurant. Not only is it incredibly creative it was really, really tasty. I am not a vegetarian but would recommend the food 100%. It is artistically presented, whilst full of flavour and taste. The service was great and the venue really pleasant. All in all a great experience.

I can't say I was thrilled by my dining experience, but New Age Veggie is one of the few places in Shanghai where you can have a vegetarian meal, so I feel it is my duty to provide a favourable review. 80% of the menu is 'fake meat', meaning soy-based mixtures that replicate animal by-products. I am not fond of... More

This is a great place to go if you're with veggies and meat-eaters, the food is all vegetarian (not-common in China) but it's made to resemble meat, which was off-putting for me at first, but it was all very delicious. You can order lots of small dishes to share, and the service was good. The place itself is really nice... More

Never thought one could eat vegetarian food and still enjoy the idea of having meat.. Traveled with my husband and business associate and being vegetarians had a lil tough time finding suitable options on menus across the city but this place offered some great authentic Chinese food... and most importantly entirely veggie... Great concept and food, this way all of... More

The only open restaurant is one on HauiHai Lu near Shanxi Nan Lu, other branches are closed. Had been here a couple of times earlier to try Chinese style food, but totally vegetarian, mostly made from tofu. I am a veggie so not sure whether the food really tastes same as chicken or meat, but my friends have told that... More

I think I have never eaten better vegetarian food before. Even so the place looks a bit... well... strange, with all the plush and the colors, the food is just phantastic. Try the chicken skewers Szechuan style or the rock fish (both vegetarian ;-). Or the beef soup, the shrimp dumplings or any other food. Note: They don't serve alcohol,... More

I loved this place for their range of "fake meat" food. Got to try chinese delicacies in a vegetarian way. Coz i am a vegetarian. Loved the authentic dumplings. steamed buns and the noodle soup. Atmosphere was nice and calm. Totally loved the experience.

Staying in Lujiazui

Neighbourhood Profile
Lujiazui
When people speak of Shanghai’s futuristic skyline, it’s the financial district of Luiazui they are speaking of. Shanghai’s most iconic buildings are located in close proximity to Lujiazui’s elevated ring road and swanky eateries. Sky-high shopping and chic bars fill the highrises around the area. As is characteristic of a world-class financial business district, some of Shanghai’s best malls and hotels can be found in the neighborhood. While everyone on the famous Bund side of the river gazes in awe at these amazing structures, all the buildings here, as well as Lujiazui’s riverside promenade, offer great views of the historic buildings all along the Puxi side. The Lujiazui park often hosts music festivals throughout the year, and park goers can party and stroll in the shadow of some of the world’s tallest buildings.
