There were 5 of us eating and we decided to go with the Set Menu's which is the only way to go as otherwise the ale-carte menu is expensive and not as good as the set-menu's. Also my daughters and I could have shared the 2-person set menu but were advised by the head waiter to order something from the... More

RESTAURANT'S FAVOURITE REVIEW
Reviewed 3 weeks ago

My wife and I had never been to this cornerstone establishment until friends invited us to dinner one night. I felt like a fool for having wasted so many opportunities to eat such immaculately prepared and presented food! I enjoyed the fact that you couldn't see into the restaurant from the lobby. As the door opened it was pleasantly dissociative... More

I was fortunate to get a window seat to enjoy the fantastic view as the lights came on all around. Outdoor terrace is great. I don't usually dine in restaurants alone as it can be a bit uncomfortable, I was a little put off by the comments from one of the staff that it was a pity I was on... More

We had visited Ultraviolet the previous night so Mr and Mrs Bund had a lot to live upto. It didn't disappoint and amazed us with a vast array of wonderful food with amazing views of Shanghai. Our kids (13 and 10) devoured the beef short ribs which just melted in your mouth! Will be back next time we're in Shanghai!

First, the space is beautiful, creative, and the music is good. The terrace has great views of Pudong. Second, the people were nice and welcoming. I had a great drink (a sort of Asian mojito with lemongrass). Third, the food was delicious. The menu is very big. We loved a pasta dish with foie gras sauce and wild mushrooms, the... More

Outstanding in every respect. Not inexpensive but worth every penny for the view alone! Food great and Julien was a friendly host. There is a deck that you can go on to get a gorgeous view of Bund at night.

Excellent meal and very courteous A must do on the Bund Try the lemon tart or chocolate mousse There are cheaper seats in the restaurant which will suit those wanting a smaller and less expensive meal without compromising quality of food which is great at all levels

My partner and I went to Mr and Mrs Bund for our first night in Shanghai. I've been to Shanghai many times before but we've never been able to make it to this restaurant due to time constraints, so we were excited to be finally getting the chance. For something that's supposed to be somewhat fine dining, it certainly wasn't.... More

Description
Mr & Mrs Bund – Modern Eatery by Paul Pairet. A modern French eatery. Relaxed chic atmosphere, heritage Bund location.Mr & Mrs Bund is French, in the manner of Chef Paul Pairet: born, traveled, and globally stamped. Contemporary, but not stuffy. Relaxed, without sacrificing an ounce of chic. We serve populist French favorites, through Pairet's looking glass. Service is family-style, recast for a modern table, and the wine list includes 32 wines by the glass. We riff on classics, we dish up comfort cuisine, and we serve it just like you would Sunday night dinner – sharing-style, and with plenty for seconds. It's a straightforward menu that takes simple French classics to start, and then let you add and play. Mash-ups: not just for potatoes and DJs anymore. Staying in The Bund

Neighbourhood Profile
The Bund
While there are certainly many other “bunds” in the world, “the Bund” refers to Shanghai’s famous waterfront. The area’s Gothic, Art Deco and Beaux Arts monoliths were built when it was part of the Shanghai International Settlement run by the British and Americans. The atmosphere of colonial-era luxury has endured over time and is now found in the five-star hotels, luxury brand boutiques and expensive restaurants that can be found within the historic buildings. A cultural center has built up away from the water and some of Shanghai’s best art galleries and museums are housed close to the Bund. Nighttime views of Pudong and the rest of the city also make for a great backdrop at the many rooftop clubs.
