I've been in this restaurant with a group of friends, was the first time for all of us, we were interested to try nepali food! We arrived there after a long happy hour around 21:40 , knowing that their closing time is at 22:30; we...picked several dishes and several drinks; once we finished to order the first comment of the waitress was, in a rude way, "ah, this is not gonna be enough for you" ... me and my friends looked at him like weird and with a face I'm sorry but we order what we feel and we want! .... the food was ok but the first thing that bothered me was that the fried chicken, in the big mix appetizer, was raw!!! one of my friend asked for a can of coke and it came all dirty on top with a sort of a gel, pretty nasty! when my friend asked for a napkin to clean it, the waitress seemed like annoyed as we were the most pickiest guests in all SH! I guess that all this bad environment that we experienced is due to the late hour, but I recommend, that the next time other clients come late just say "I'm sorry but the kitchen is closed" and spare a bad dining experience for everybody.More

I've been here several times, and I must say it never disappoints. eating here is a really great experience, starting from the colorful Nepal decoration , good food, super friendly staff and very affordable prices. Definitely one of my favorites in Shanghai. See you soon...:-)!More

Great Nepalese food in a relaxed setting. We've had take away from Nepali Kitchen on previous visits to Shanghai but this was our first time in restaurant and it certainly didn't disappoint. Staff speak excellent English which make ordering a breeze and the restaurant is...decorated with beautiful photos from Nepal. We were seated on the top floor and found that it did get very noisy as we were seated near a group of 14 people who seemed to think shouting at each other was the only way to communicate, but it didn't spoil our experience. We ate order upon order of the famous cheese balls along with a buffet of other options. The palak paneer and beef curry were particular standouts and we had difficulty convincing my vegetable-phobic father that the delicious palak paneer contained vegetables - he insisted it simply taste to good to have veggies in it! We left very full with satisfied tastebuds. Prices are also very reasonable for a French concession restaurant.More

reserve the tables where you can sit on the floor, this makes the whole dining experience more authentic. food is good.

If you like Indian food, you will also like Nepali Kitchen. Wash everything down with a couple of beers. Sitting on the floor and at tables is both provided.

I have overall appreciated the services. Since it is usually quite bad in Shanghai, it was amazing to have english speaking and smiling staff. We tried the famous Cheese Balls: AMAZING; The other dishes were also very good and very tasty. Their beef chili is fabulous and holy their starters. Loved their special breads as well. Try this place and you won't be disappointed!
