We went there with a group of people from different nations and some Lebanes who thaught this was a very nice relief from Chinese cusine. We had different dishes, I enjoyed the lamb on a spear best. We also tried waterpipe, which very many uses in this restaurant, so smoke an loud music, and a belly dancer every 30 min... More

Nice variety of halal Arabian dishes. This hotel was recommended by Ritz Carlton Portman so I went there to try it myself. Just to be sure to get the correct address as they moved to 100m away from what you can find in the Internet.

As a frequent traveler to the Middle East, my taste buds are undoubtedly prejudiced by "authentic" levantine foodstuffs! So you can imagine my excitement when I first discovered this restaurant...I wasn't overwhelmed to say the least, but I wasn't disappointed, and have visited a few times. The mezze were acceptable, but the main dishes were slightly bland. The environment was... More

Everything is just perfect in that place, service is great, the middle eastern food is just delicious, the billy dancers are performing professionally, and the shisha there was just perfect.

The egg plant was excellent and really helped to enhance the flavour of the food. The belly dancing was excellent! The bad The music was very loud where you... More

My wife and I are new to Shanghai. After having resided in the MIddle East the past three years, we were desperate to find a decent Lebanese place. I rate this place as 'average' for three reasons, but first, the good stuff: the sheesha in the air, the many Arab patrons, and the overall atmosphere immediately precipitated a warm and... More

This halal restaurant serves Lebanese food. You will be spoilt for choice as there are wide varieties for one to choose from. Food comes in big serving as well. Come during night time, there are 2 ladies to entertainment you with their belly dancing skills. If you want a quiet restaurant, this is not for you as the music is... More

The service does not have the magic touch of Middle Eastern culture.... The place is best for gatherings with friends. Belly dancers are a surprise

This Resturant is having Arabic food and I found it below the average, the appetizers were not that authentic and grilled food was not tasty. The shisha is average The only reason I came to this Resturant that it's serving halal food for Muslims

Staying in Former French Concession

Neighbourhood Profile
Former French Concession
While there are technical borders to the area formerly governed by the French in Shanghai, the "French Concession" of today is an amorphous neighborhood that is a favorite of the city's foreign residents. While it is mostly within the Xuhui district, residents will sometimes include parts of Jing'an and Luwan in their mental maps of the Former French Concession. The area seems frozen in time, characterized by quiet, tree-lined avenues, French-style villas, interesting boutiques, lively bars and quaint cafes that are not typical of China. All of these mix and mingle with local life as Chinese markets and lanehouse communities are peppered throughout. Denizens of the Former French Concession can spectate a mahjong game on the street or get their bike checked at a tiny bike repair store on the way to their refurbished apartment tucked away among Chinese family homes.
