Great place in the open air (also inside is an option) to have some drinks with friends or colleagues. Clean bathroom, pretty fast service. Many many beers on tap! Next to Zapatos which is just as good. Little bit expensive. Good red wine! Great cocktails.

This restaurant is situated next to the famous Zapata's and has a nice oudoor seating terrace. They have an extensive beer collection which makes me happy. Try the Hoegaarden white in a huge glass.

We were hungry and just needed a spot to eat. Unfortunately, it was terrible. First look at the menu, expensive even for Shanghai standards so we expected quality. We were wrong. First, the waiters were rude. There were standing around being 'bothered' by us. There...More

Good service, big beers, really good food and affordable!!! A must for an european in Shanghai. We liked to sit in the quiet yard and enjoy the busy city outside.

...which is mostly trashy expats and confused locals. Not a good spot for much really, unless it's a sunny day and you get to sit outside.

Big thank you to 'Tam' and the bar staff at Sasha's for looking after us so well. The cocktails are delicious and a great variety of beer. People watching at it's best.

a toilet that smells like a wet dog, with soap in a glass because the dispenser is broken - I wish I had seen that before we ordered food and drinks because we'd be out of there and avoided the disaster it was. We ordered...More

What a fun place to meet new people! There are many booth-like tables to have conversation without shouting! Staff were very helpful! Good selection of wines! I've heard great things about the Sunday brunch! Also available is the Soong Tea!

Former French Concession
While there are technical borders to the area formerly
governed by the French in Shanghai, the "French
Concession" of today is an amorphous neighborhood that
is a favorite of the city's foreign residents. While
it is mostly within the Xuhui district, residents will
sometimes include parts of Jing'an and Luwan in their
mental maps of the Former French Concession. The area
seems frozen in time, characterized by quiet,

Description
The building that houses Sasha’s Restaurant, Bar and Garden was built in 1921 and was the former home of T.V. Soong, financier and official of the Chinese Nationalist government between 1927 and 1949. T.V. played a significant role in 20th century history. He was a signatory to the 1942 Declaration by the United Nations, was instrumental in securing Chiang Kai-shek's release in the “Xian Incident” and was once reputed to have been the richest man in the world.

“Paul” T.V. Soong was also the eldest sibling of the Soong Family, “the clan that changed China”. The Soong sisters often stayed at the residence and they and their husbands were amongst China's most significant political figures of the early 20th century. Soong Ai-ling married H.H. Kung (Chinese Premier), Soong Ching-ling married Sun Yat-sen (leader of the 1911 revolution) and Soong Mei-ling married Chiang Kai-shek (leader of the Republic of China).

Sasha’s offers a unique western dining and drinking experience in this historical setting and the biggest beer garden in Shanghai. Lunch is available Monday to Friday and Brunch is available on weekends.
