Best pulled pork (chopped) sandwich I have ever had. I ordered it with slaw on the top. Game changer. They also have the perfect red sauce. Great service.

Stopped in for lunch (twice, it's that good) and was looking for good BBQ. Was I surprised! First off, the employees couldn't be nicer, more professional and humorous. The food was made to order, hot, fresh, on point and delicious. This is now my go...to BBQ when I'm in town. No need to look any further. Service was Excellent.Cashier was friendly and made great suggestions. Would recommend this place to friends.
Very poor service and food was horrible. Kitchen and dining area very unclean and staff were extremely rude. Thumbs down!!! Never eat there again!!!
Gloria was so sweet! We traveled to Mobile to stay for the night on our way to New Orleans. We found this place on TP as we love local joints and we needed to eat outside because we always travel with our dog. Pulled pork...sandwich and ribs were amazing. I especially loved the baked beans... different and good! We will definitely stop by on our way back!More
My husband and I came for supper on a Friday night. I like the fact that they ask if you want your meat sauced or not—I don’t, since good barbecue should stand on its own. I like that they include dill pickles with the barbecue...plates. The brisket was good, but I wasn’t as big a fan of the pulled pork and ribs. The fried green tomatoes are excellent, and the potato salad tastes homemade. The cornbread was dry, as was the cake, so I’d skip those, but overall a good enough experience that I would return.More
Waited 30 min for food not even busy... See pictures... The mailman at the gas station said to come here... Order food for 4 people... Main with sides... Around 63 dollars wow lol..... If ur stopping by u better order it in advance seems very...unorganized and just got everything Togo got tired of waitingMore
I called my order in that morning and still had to wait in line to pay and waited over an hour for my food. It was a to go order. Yes, it's the 4th of July, so I expected it to be busy, but there...was absolutely no organization. And on top of that my order was wrong. The food is good, but it is truly not worth this long if a wait. There was absolutely no organization. To go orders should have been in one line apart from others. They even called out the wrong numbers for st least a couple of orders. RIDICULOUS!!! This location is now at 1111 Government Street now BTW.More
This restaurant is different from others you enter and wait in line to order from the large menu in front of you. The cashier as she is taking your order shouts to the kitchen with parts of your order as it goes along. They then...ring you out and you are given your drinks and off to try to find a free table to eat at you. The cashier will have given you a number for your order, remember it as they will send someone from the kitchen out later yelling your number for you to speak up so they can deliver to your table. A short time later under 15 minutes for us just after noon on a week day we had our food. The food was hot and enjoyable. The sauce was on the side as we had asked for it. I had fried green tomatoes which were sliced thick and battered well. They were good. I had the smoked chicken and it seemed a little dry to me and without much smoke flavor. The place looks dated and run down inside almost like cleaning has been given up on, food was ok, but not worth a special trip or return. Just average for us.More
Good chicken bbq atmosphere is good staff are friendly great place for lunch rib was a little dry but good taste
In my personal opinion, it's the best BBQ place in Mobile. They gave a great variety of food for those who want something else than standard BBQ. The jambalaya is really great and so is the hamburger. Service is always friendly.
We dined at this restaurant for lunch. The dining room was very smoky. Maybe they should invest in a better ventilation system. The menu is extensive. Most in my party had the rib tips. They were good, but not as tender as I like. They...were also drenched in too much sauce. My husband had the 1/4 slab of ribs (sauce on the side), which he said was delicious and tender. The sides were awesome, but too small (Dixie cup small)! The mac & cheese was creamy, the collards tender and well seasoned, and the jambalaya was meaty and spicy. As for the service it was good until, their usual rude carry-out customer (according to the cashier) arrived. The customer skipped the line, comes to the register where I was being helped, and the cashier, unbeknownst to me, stopped preparing my order to wait on the rude customer just to “get her out”. When the customer left, the cashier explained this was typical behavior for this customer. The way they deal with her, is to wait on her and get her out quickly. I told her that was part of the problem. She should be made to wait her turn, like everyone else. Maybe I’ll return if they’ll honor a policy of first come, first served.More
We always make at least one stop at Saucy-Q when in Mobile. Hard not to over-order there, it's all SOOOO good. Ribs are fall off the bone delicious, and their sauce is spicy-sweet without being cloying. Good sides too.
I was in Mobile for the holidays and, by the recommendation of my wife's cousin, was directed to the Saucy Q. It's a pretty awesome looking spot characterized by a number of pictures layering the the walls, more especially the caricatures of whom may have...been guests or people associated with the establishment. Anyway, on to the food. My wife and I always order different things at places that we have never been so that we can get a sample of at least two choices. I ordered the bbq beef sandwich and she ordered the smoked wings, both with sauce on the side. My sandwich was pretty good. Had some pretty good smoke flavor. I, prefer my meat with a little bark though. Nonetheless, it was an awesome treat. The smoked wings, however, were stunning. They were cooked to the bone with smoke and flavor, and they were huge. The meat just fell off the bone. I was actually surprised at the tenderness. The addition of the sauce to both were good, but the wings can stand on their own. No sauce needed. The mac and cheese was awesome as were the fried green tomatoes. Surprised I had never heard of this place prior to now, but I will be back to visit them again.More
Ok. So I mis-calculated my flight departure time after my wife and I returned from a Carnival cruise. We returned from the cruise at 8am and the flight was to leave at 5:30pm. So nine hours with 3 large luggage bags. After about an hour...in the curb after the cruise Stewart kicked us off the boat(We were not in a rush to do nothing in the heat!), we decided to call Uber and rent a car for the airport, to see what Mobile, Alabama had to offer. Back story: 1. The Uber driver was great. She talk us to death and missed her turn twice, as she was into her point. Learned a to from her about AL. 2. The airport is small and you can arrive 30mins before your departure time to get on the plan with time to spare. Very very useful! 3. We ended up visiting the USS Alabama war ship. Fantastic!!!!!! It was here that we learned of Saucey Q, for the ticket lady. She said that Saucey Q was "Delicious!" I told her those were powerful words in my wold. But she stood by it. The Review: So after she used the word Delicious, it was a must. We got the directions, which is in Government street, in the very beautiful historic district of Mobile. A must visit for the vantage homes alone. The location was modest and warm. The hostess was very patient as we tried to get as much as we could off the menu. She recommended the RIBS and Fish. We ended up getting the RIBS,Fish, Chicken Wings, Red Beans, Greens,Mac/Cheese, potato salad, RedKoolaid, and Banana Pudding. Everything was great, but the RIBSwas DELICIOUS!!!! The best RIBS I have every tasted. So, I signed my name in the seat, which is a thing there, and rung the bell to let them know how great it was( the bell is a thing as well). I had to write this as I have no plans to ever be in Alabama again. (But who know, those RIBS were outstanding!) be in Mobile Alabama thinMore
