Visited this restaurant twice during our holiday in Candolim & food was excellent. Booking a table was very easy via WhatsApp & a very quick response to confirm our table.
On each visit, we had the steaks with peppercorn & mushroom sauces, both cooked exactly how we asked for.
Only managed a dessert once but the grilled pineapple in rum caramel was absolutely delicious!
Pricing wise we didn’t think it was bad at all, first visit was around £65 but that included a bottle of wine for husband & second visit was around £30 (excluding tips we left for staff).
All of the staff were very friendly & attentive, we were thanked each time for visiting which was a nice touch. Your son is very polite & a credit to your restaurant.
Will be sure to come back for another visit the next time we are in Candolim.

Chef Soumyen and his family give a very personal dining experience spending time to not only cook for their guests but to talk with them. All the staff are extremely attentive without being overbearing
The food is excellent and reasonably priced ….we loved the mushrooms filled with peppered cheese; the sea bass and caramelised pineapple with rum sauce.
All in all excellent food at reasonable prices in a setting with a lovely ambience

It was my birthday and we had booked a dinner. Chef Soumyen and his son Aditya made it really special by decorating the table beautifully with flowers and candles.
They helped us choose the dishes and I must say , they all were well presented and sumptuous. We tried prawns, grilled salmon and chicken steak. The taste of the dishes was perfect. We relished the food.
The aura of the place is so nice, it's in Calangute but away from its hustle and bustle. The place is always full of foreigners and one needs to book a table in advance.
The best thing was chef Soumyen visited our table with complimentary chocolate mousse and played HBD on his mouth organ which made the whole experience wonderful.
One must not miss visiting this place while in Goa.

This was a re visit after a bad expierance last year, but l let it go and contacted the owner direct and explained. This visit was just as bad , the pate starter was very average, the small ammount of toast came pre buttered ? what happens if you dont want butter, we ordered two steaks and were asked our preferance for cooking, the steaks were mixed up or cooked wrong as we did not receive what was asked for, and to make it really bad one steak had a fair ammount of sinue/gristle in it, you should only have pure meat in a fillet steak., our jacket potatoe was far too firm much like the year before, we did not attempt what was descibed as vegtables. Yes l could have made a fuss and spoilt the night , but decided not to and never repeat the visit again, at no time during our meal was we asked how the food was, they were far too busy to ask.We are well travelled people and are used to top quality food , on this occasion again this was no so. Sad to have to make this review.

When I’m in Goa and want a good quality meal with the best ingredients, cooked to perfection within a tranquil setting this is the place.
Sure Goa is cheap but if you wanting a cut above then try this place, does not only he know the food chain but he will explain from being farmed to fork the history behind the food chain which to me is important. This is one of the only places where the Chef actually greets and mixes with his clientele.
I’m not going to rant about what we had to eat, as the food speaks for itself!

We visited this restaurant during a family holiday to Candolim. It was a 5 minute walk from our Hotel. The service was impeccable from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. All the waiters were polite and professional. The Chef came out from the open kitchen to greet us personally. We had the rum and lemon prawns and calamari for starter which were both delicious! We all then had the fillet steak with pepper or mushroom sauce for mains. They were all cooked to perfection. Really good quality meat. For dessert my sons had saved space for the brownie sizzler which was an experience in itself! I would totally recommend this restaurant to anyone in Goa looking for a special evening with beautifully prepared food and attentive service.

A charming address. In a small street near the ea and noise and pollution. We dine on the terrace, the tables are spaced apart, the service is attentive. The chef and his son are in charge. Dinner is good, as are the desserts. As a bonus, a nice soundtrack which gives the final touch to the atmosphere of the place. See you next year.

Amazing Restaurant with a Real Personal Touch in Chef' Soumyens
Had the Grill Tiger Prawns and the Fillet Steak and I've got to say the Steak just melted in our mouth. How could you even do that? It's amazing Chef, Keep up the Good Work
Also we had booked in advance as the place was fully booked, So make a reservation before hand

We started with the watermelon and feta salad which was an unexpected pleasant combination. The filet steak was cooked perfectly with a warm pepper sauce and sautéed veg. Finished with butterscotch brûlée. Beer and cocktails for two under £50 represents great value for money. If I was longer in Goa I would eat here again

We visited for my husband’s birthday last week after having a recommendation from a fellow passenger at the airport and it was the best place we visited and the staff could not be more attentive.
The service was excellent and the food was the best we had all holiday.
The Fillet steak was the best steak I have ever eaten and cooked to perfection.

We've been visiting this restaurant since it opened, and it's still a restaurant we visit each time we're in Goa. It's a lovely place and the food is mostly very good. Service is friendly and professional but not natural, which is a shame. Chef is always around to either greet you, check on you, or thank you at the end. Your visit feels genuinely appreciated.
You are given mosquito repellent if you are sitting outside, which is a good touch, but I'd also like to smell a nice burner!
We all enjoyed our meals, but on this occasion, the King Prawns were over-cooked, and we felt the portion size was too big! Yes, I know that sounds a weird thing to say, but we felt we left too much food on our plates! We wanted to enjoy 3 courses but we couldn't! This restaurant is still worthy of its status within the dining scene of Goa.

We went to celebrate husband's birthday. We had 3 courses. All were worthy of a 5 star restaurant I can recommend the sizzler plate- strips of tenderloin steak, chicken and bacon in a perfect combination of spices. My husband loved his medium rare fillet steak with peppercorn suace. Service was attentive and the chef himself came to speak and ask how things were. We will definitely be returning.

Another set of visits to Soumyens Kitchen , so great changes to the menu since our last visits pre pandemic Feb 2020 .
The staff are very attentive and well trained , the food is just exquisite , perfectly cooked.

Thank you for a wonderful Christmas dinner! The chef visited our table twice and catered to our wishes that weren’t directly on the menu (pig’s in blankets for starters and a cheese board). The waiters were also very friendly and accommodating. Nice ambiance and very tasty food. Do visit if you want something different to what the beach shacks have to offer.
