Visited several times during our stay, the staff remembered us from pre-covid days! The Captain was on hand to show us the catch of the day and recommend which fish was best for our group at the time. Twice we chose seabass, grilled in the...tandoori and served with lemon garlic butter. Tandoori chicken skewers and the sizzling chicken platter were perfectly cooked, served steaming hot and extremely delicious. Friendly helpful staff, always happy to see you return.More

We went for a family lunch on 25th December and absolutely enjoyed it. The warm and hospitable staff made it extra special. They have a wide range of mouthwatering starters. Thanks to the wonderful chef for preparing butter garlic, Goan masala fry and masala rawa...fry from a full Sea bass. Their cheese garlic naan is also yummy. Absolutely loved itMore

Our entire visit was an experience, a positive experience that we would recommend very highly. The hotel is right by the beach and has 3 levels of service locations which in total, is massive - indoor, a patio seating overlooking the beach and a beach...setting that allows you to get your toes sandy. We always had service and were never ignored. The servers don’t miss a table and are so helpful in explaining ingredients and offering recommendations on customisations. The menu has a variety of fish, meat and vegetable items cooked in a variety of ways. The salads are not creative and are quite average so don’t go there for the salads. The fish and meat dishes are quite flavourful and unlike other locations in Goa, are quite sensible in their spice levels. The portions are also quite good. We went on a Saturday so were lucky to witness the live band which played lively music in a variety of languages so something if not most of it resonated with diners. There was also a little dance area that started being used by diners towards the latter half of the night. We are anticipating a second visit most definitely and highly would recommend it to those looking to visit a restaurant in South Goa serving good, clean lunch or dinner.More

The best thing about the place is the view. Food is ok ...not so great. Need to maintain standards.make efforts to make customers happy. Maintenance work was going on . The atmosphere was totally dead.

A restaurant that is frequented by locals and domestic tourists. The food is typical of a "Multicusine" restaurant which is a common theme in Goa. So nothing culinary to look forward to. But a decent place to have a drink and watch the sea in...the day time.More

Johncy is an oceanfront restaurant with tables laid on the beach serving Goan as well as other cuisine. It is quite popular during tourist season and they have a Crooner singing popular numbers on some days. We enjoyed dining there during our visit in March...after a nice walk along the beach. We enjoyed their VAT69 and Red Sangria as drinks, with Fish Finger for starters and Prawn Sizzlers with BBQ Sauce for dinner. On another visit relished their famous Prawn Rice with Goan Curry. The dishes were fresh, well cooked, authentic and delicious. The staff are helpful and great. The ambience and décor are excellent. Would love going there on our next trip.More

The food was pathetic. Not sure why as the previous reviews weren't as bad. We went on the 15th Aug weekend so yes the place was crowded and it seemed like they were understaffed in the kitchen. We could understand the effect of the rush...but few basics weren't up to the mark which was more annoying. Virjin Mojito was a basic fresh lime soda with mint garnish on top. When we asked the water the reason for it he blatantly said this is how it is. The sizzler we ordered was not sizzling at all. When we asked why isn't this hot, the waiter simply took it back and not a piece was moved when he got back. They just added the smoke for the sake of it. Very disappointing.More

Just like any other beach shack in Goa, Johncy's offers indian, chinese, mughlai, finger food, good starters, and the regular drinks and cocktails. They have open seating under a roof as well as tables on the sand, in the open. The staff is very helpful,...however on busy days, you will need to keep reminding them of your orders.More

Coming here after almost a decade . Was not disappointed. Had mackerel racheado and chicken cafrael shared between me and my son . Wifey ordered a veg Hakka noodles which was great to eat on its own. The pineapple juice was simply out of this...world. .. I asked for the Kings beer which the kind waiter informed me had stopped long time back.More

The restaurant has a lovely vibe in the evening with music and candle lighting. It has a direct view of the beach. There is a swing set in sand in the front of the restaurant where u can enjoy sunset. Food is delicious with good...quality and quantity. Drinks are good too. Pricing is on the higher side as compared to near by restaurants. They have a variety of Goan, North Indian, Indian-Chinese as well as Continental dishes. Parking is available at the back of the restaurant. They have a shower but it had no water. May be because it was off season. After following up several times and waiting for 15 minutes I got only a trickle of water so gave up.More

Johncys is a typical beach shack. And yet with all the footfall and the people, they manage a service with a smile, nice live music, a teeny weeny dance floor - perfect goan vibes. Don't expect it to be great or perfect, it's a beach...shack and does it's job well.More

Johncy is the busiest shack on Benaulim Beach, and rightfully so. The food is absolutely lip smacking delicious. On our few visits here, we ordered a Goan Seafood Sizzler (amazing variety of calamari, fish and prawns), chicken hakka noodles (spice level was moderate, ask them...for more spicy if you're into that) and what surprised me the most was that soft drinks were only Rs. 28/- Yes, you heard that right, on a mainstream beach shack, part of the reason why we went there so often lol. Would definitely recommend a proper meal here.More
