Bar-B-Q has been the choice for chinese (or Indo-chinese) to most Calcuttans for years now. At least ever since the original Waldorf closed down. We were going to BBQ after 5 years and though some of the old faces amongst the staff are no longer...there, but the atmosphere and the hospitality is pretty much the same. We were there for lunch and considering these difficult times, there was a fair crowd. Down to the staples a Chicken Lat-me-kai for starters to go with the chilled beer. No one makes it like BBQ still does. The Hakka Noodles were as sumptuous as they used and we ordered Schezwan Chilli Pork for the mains was succulent and spicy as promised! All in a all it seemed like the good old days all over again.More

This is probably my 4th visit. I like the Chinese they serve. Price is reasonable and ambience is good. Ambience may feel bustly sometimes but overall good. Service is fast and good. Sometimes there can be waiting period during special occasions but since they have...a big area they are able to accommodate many people.More

BarBQ serves the best ‘Indian-Chinese’ ever...there’s always a queue despite how big the restaurant is and that should speak volumes about the kind of food they serve. The food is consistently good, their prices are great. The staff are super efficient. What’s not to like?...Try the lat-mi-Kai, Dimsums, chili garlic noodles, special fried rice, corn salt and pepper...everything. Ask for recommendations - the stewards really know their stuffMore

The food is good. The ambience is good. Gives me the old Calcutta British feels. I feel like I'm in a old back and white movie where waiters are well dressed and actually follow the service rules. Love going there on days I want to...remember the charm of Calcutta! ❤️More
