After long uphill walk to Mahakhal Temple, I was able to locate a quaint place at heart of Chowrista. As we entered this place, we transported to colonial Darjeeling, with its wooden interiors. There were lovely selections to read from for a bibliophile. We had...plate of hash browns with charred tomatoes and cheese, bread and scrambled eggs. The food tasted exquisite and ambience was absolutely peaceful. Thank you for being such wonderful host!More
This place is located at a walking distance from chowrasta! The moment you enter this cafe your are taken aback by the beauty of simplicity this place adorns - Wooden walls and ceilings, simple paintings, clean tables, book shelves lined across the ceiling. Coming to...the show stopper, the FOOD ... the more I say the less it feels. Aunthentic English breakfast - Hash browns, Eggs, tomatoes, cheese, coffee, tea. And last but not least, the show runner - Sonam Aunty and her husband. A heartwarming couple with so many compliments to give. To sum it up... do visit this quaint little cafe in Darjeeling!More
Visited Sonam's kitchen today for breakfast, after a Tripadvisor search recommended it as the #1 breakfast place in Darjeeling. We ordered Hash browns, scrambled eggs, tomatoes, toast, and pancakes! The pancakes here are a must- have. Perfectly light and fluffy. The tomatoes were very nicely...done too, as were the egg scramble and toast. Homely taste and hospitality by the chef herself and her husband (I think). Keep some time at hand, it's not a fast-food joint as we heard the chef tell those on other table. Carry cash - they don't accept online payments / cards.More
This is cosy little eatery that i believe every coffee enthusiast should visit once in darjeeling. Unlike other places they dont serve nescafe in the name of coffee but instead have the local freshly roasted coffee. Sonam aunty is super sweet and she serves food...with so much excitement, you will love the place. Must visit.More
If you are a foodie and love western food, this is the best place for you. No processed food, all freshly cooked. Must try the pancake, and do try the fried tomatoes combo dish, and get amazed. None the less "The Honey ginger lemon tea",...a sip and you can taste Darjeeling ❤️ Note: My idea about pancake 🥞 being "atta/maida batter roti" changed, and came to know what real pancake tastes like. And now I love tomatoes 😁. Thank you Sonam aunty for such a great experience ❤️❤️❤️.More
Taste is very good. Sonam and others are fantastic persons. I will Love to visit. Tried Two times in a three night stay. Combo meal and filter coffee is much preferable.
Had been to Sonam’s kitchen 2hours ago and still drooling over the fluffy pancake that i had. We have heard a lot about Sonam’s kitchen hence thought of giving a try and thanks for all those earlier reviews we went there and tried their yummy...pancake, it was so fluffy and yummy. Then the hashbrown and the scrambled egg made to perfection. With all these yummy food the interaction that we had with Auntie and Uncle was the cherry on the top. The cosy place the warmth of Uncle n Auntie made our morning, would definitely visit everytime we are there!!!!More
Sonam’s kitchen is the best way to start your day! The ambience and the food is worth all your time. It’s a treat for your taste buds. 100/100 recommended.✨
Sonam's kitchen is a cozy place located near the main chowk in Darjeeling. The breakfast here is amazing and far better than other hyped places. The pancakes are simply amazing and do give the coffee a try. The portion sizes are huge here, though that...is found in most places in Darjeeling. Majorly, it is open between 8:30-6:30 due to pandemic, though it will be open longer as restrictions ease. Certainly worth a try and a true hidden gem!More
