Kunga is a very old restaurant in Darjeeling, it's name comes up across my mind if I hear "Darjeeling". They are a medium budget restaurant, with a small space for sitting, for around 25 people at once. They serve quality Tibetan food over there. Must...try Thukpa. But they generally open late, and close fairly quickly. If you are planning to go there, join the queue for sitting by 5 PM !More

We ate here twice when we were in Darjeeling as it's definitely the best food in the whole town. handmade family style Tibetan food, tasty, high quality, and large portions for very reasonable prices. very small so may have to wait but worth it for...soups, fried rice, dumplings. etc I wouldn't go anywhere else.More

What an amazing restaurant. Very nice people, excellent food, copious plates and a great atmosphere. A must go when in Darjeeling, they really deserve their huge success.

Excellent food. We dined here twice during our stay in Darjeeling. We hat thunkpa which was plentiful, tasty a fresh. The mo mos are justly famous. The fresh lime add is real. Service was friendly and quick. The food was a great value. The restaurant is...small,popular and does not take credit cards. Worth the wait!More

Small restaurant consists of maximum of 10 tables but food quality as well as quantity is more than enough. To get the real taste of chinese and Tibetan food a visit to kunga is a must. Located in between Keventer and the Clock Tower.

A small place but with a heavy punch of flavor. The food is amazing but the serving is humongous. One serving of momo is 10 pieces and if you are only one eating, then all the best to you!!! The tea with honey was good...and so was the thupka. Wish they would be open post 6:00 PM IST.More

It is very well known and famous eating joint in Darjeeling where you can taste authentic Tibetan food. Truly Delicious. The quantity of food is enough. Price of food is justified. The seating capacity of this resturant is very less, as the resturant is quite...small in terms of space. This is the only drawback. One have to wait outside after registering their names in the counter for their turn.More

It's a Tibetan Restaurant and not a Chinese Restaurant. So if your idea is similar to Bengali Style Chinese Cuisine, you might be disappointed... This family run restaurant is over 2 decades old and specializes in Tibetan dishes and serves great Chinese food as well....We tried - 1. Chicken Momo (Steam) 5/5 2. Mixed Fried Rice (Without Beef) 5/5 3. Sweet and Sour Chicken 4/5 4. Chicken Hot and Sour Soup 5/5 5. Chicken Ping with Mushroom (Dry) 5/5 6. Chilli Pork (Dry) 5/5 7. Chicken Chowmien 5/5 8. Chicken Chilli 4/5 9. Pork Momo (Steam) 5/5 10. Fresh Lime Soda 3/5 The food in itself is out of this world, the best Tibetan Cuisine anyone can offer... If you want to eat momo here, keep the plate under your mouth. Of course. Why? ☺️ Because Momo's heavy stuffing is in a thick delirium, neither the juice nor the watery part can come out. So if you take a bite, they will go to your tongue and make you mesmerized. The mixture of fat and meat is so beautiful that I realized I had to come here again, especially to eat momo...best momos I've ever had... 🤤 Phing is there special handmade glass noodles. Its a very soft, slippery and transparent noodles... Must try dish. Do not order too much, because their portions are very big. 💸Pocket Pinch - ₹400-500 for two approx 🔔Important tips - Whenever you're going there don't forget to carry cash with you because this place doesn't accept any credit or Debit card... Overall I can say the quantity and taste of every dish is above expectations.... 😍 Highly recommended from my end ❤️More

I stepped into this so-called excellent restaurant with my family very recently and had an extremely bad experience. The food maybe good but the owner definitely needs to learn how to be courteous with her customers. Apparently she 'doesn't care'! Her behaviour was appalling and...shocking as my expectations were pretty high reading all the good reviews. After waiting in the queue for over an hour, not only do I expect good food but also good behaviour. I don't think I will visit this place again, there are many good restaurants in Darjeeling that serve good food and respect their customers as well, I recommend exploring these places. Some of which are, Park, Tom and Jerry, Fiesta, Himalayan Cafe, Lazeez Affaire and Dekebas to name a few.More

My family and I visited the Kunga restaurant. This particular restaurant was highly recommended by both friends from Kolkata before we came here and even by the locals, once we arrived. Indeed this was an exquisite culinary experience.... the food was simply amazing. The owner...and the server were extremely polite, helpful and friendly. It is a small joint so it is quite natural that you may need to wait. However, the food is definitely worth the wait. We loved the homely atmosphere of this tiny restaurant and would definitely recommend everyone coming to Darjeeling to atleast visit this place once.More

First you need to wait for an hour or more to enter then before your turn comes there are people they let enter who seems to be their family members or something we couldn’t understand.Breaking the line of almost 20-30 people standing and waiting for...food or to enter. Then when asked the owner she said to sort amongst us and if any problem we can leave!!! How rude when ur running a restaurant and are a part of a hospitality industry… Shameful and utter disgusting on their part. Will never recommend or neither come here again.Me being a part of hospitality industry it was completely a shocker !!!! The owner said Please leave the restaurant!!! Definitely she don’t know how to talk and too much of EGO. She has earned the Fame because of the people standing outside but they don’t care about them.Definitely I can see a downfall in the coming years when the lady will beg for people to come n eat inside her restaurant and nobody will. I imagine how she talks to her workers if she’s so rude with her customers.More

What a quaint little place! It is a cozy joint that serves food that you will remember for years. The price is not too high but the quantity is HUGE. Two of us ordered two thukpas and one plate of momos and the food was...so good that we overate. Yet, we could not finish the food. Their food is fresh and they say that their momos will take twenty minutes. The chutney (sauce) with the momos is also amazing. Highly recommended.More

Small place with 5 tables, guess tourists want to figure out why it’s famous so visit once for sure. Hence you might have to wait for getting the table. Food is certainly different and good, especially the tibetan dishes. Service is ok
