As they say - ‘People will forget what you said, forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.’ I have been a frequent traveler to Darjeeling and most definitely Glenary’s had been my favourite place to visit. But today,...myself and my father was mistreated and was made to feel very poorly by Ms. NIMCHINKI, sorry if I have misspelled it but due to her I will no longer recommend or visit Glenary’s myself ever.More
The best bakery with innovative and authentic products at nice location with good view in Darjeeling
Are you ready to hear about my delicious adventure at Glenary's Darjeeling? Let me take you on a mouthwatering journey through this delightful breakfast spot nestled amidst the scenic beauty of Darjeeling. • The moment I stepped into Glenary's, I was greeted by the sight...of misty hills and colorful buildings in the backdrop. • I decided to go all-in for the Full English Breakfast, and boy, was it a treat! The star of the show was undoubtedly the chicken sausages - succulent, juicy, and bursting with flavors that tickled my taste buds with joy! • The flexibility to swap bacon for extra sausages was a delightful surprise. As a sausage lover, I couldn't resist indulging in more of those delectable delights. • To accompany my breakfast, I opted for a pot of authentic Darjeeling tea. No cups allowed, only pots. For solo travelers on a budget skip the tea. Sipping the tea amidst the mountains felt like savoring a piece of nature's tranquility in every sip. • As a sweet tooth enthusiast, I couldn't resist trying their hot chocolate. Creamy, velvety, and just the right amount of sweetness - it was an irresistible indulgence that warmed my soul. Now, let's talk about the flip side: • The only downside of this paradise was the long waiting time for a seat. Solo travelers might need a pinch of patience while waiting for their turn to relish the fantastic breakfast. • The outdoor seating was picturesque, but it invited some uninvited guests - flies. They buzzed around too much for comfort, but that didn't deter me from savoring every bite. In conclusion, Glenary's Darjeeling offers a scrumptious breakfast experience amidst the breathtaking charm of the mountains.More
Excellent Food. Ambience is nice. And if I compare the cost with any Delhi restaurant it was amazing.
Mojito was nice, chicken sizzler was ordinary. In fact, the served dish had egg shells and strands of hair in it.,,we showed it to the waiter- who just noted the feedback. Didn’t offer a fresh dish or refund However, the bakery items that we bought...as take-away were quite good.More
Definitely my favourite place in Darjeeling and visited several times during each stay. Some places are overhyped but Glenary’s definitely lives up to its legacy. I love their bakery items…the cheese pie, blueberry danish and sausage rolls are among my favourite. Most people love their...eclairs as well. Though the bakery opens at 8, Most savoury items are usually available post 11. You serve, heat and eat. Love the concept. Breakfast and other meals are a la carte as well. There’s a lovely formal restaurant, above the cafe and yes, even a nightclub (open till 930), in the basement. I was there over a weekend so experienced live music which was great. Being a solo traveler, I felt completely safe as there’s a lot of security around and the people generally, are nice. The manager Abel is great! Fun, has a great sense of humour and is really helpful. I’ll definitely revisit on my next trip.More
Food is not good but bakery items are . Limit yourself to selecting bakery items in a basket, heating them and then subsequently consuming them. Avoid the food, largely tasteless.
Everything about this restaurant was great. The restaurant is located in city palace the place was clean and smelled good. The staff and greeter was very nice. Our server chandragupta singh was awesome , the staff also worked as a team in bringing and cleaning up our food....The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice.More
Went for Bfast. Was overcrowded. Ordered veg patties/puffs, danish blueberry cake, cream roll. The taste was ordinary. The danish pastry was so hard that, later the street dog refused to eat. The patty was oily and tasted nothing! . Coffee was okayish. We got severe...food poisoning that night. The case is so bad that even after 2 weeks we are still on meds. Hygiene is highly questionable? Avoidable. Go only if you support a strong immunity. Extremely disappointing experience.More
It has that ambience of a French-style cake and coffee shop, serving a wide range of western and local snacks. The latte is nicely done (do note with the waiters if you want an ice latte or the standard is hot). The cake selection is...various, thus the taste is not that authentic (Japanese cheesecake is a bit hard, not that soft & bouncy )More
Our favourite stop on the way to Darjeeling and Sikkim. Very popular and lively place. Service quick and portions good. Fantastic selection of bread and patisserie.
Lives up to the name. Excellent multi cuisine restaurant with an amazing bakery downstairs. Always crowded, hence one needs to be patient !
While this is an old cafe in Darjeeling, found it a bit over rated. There was a huge rush for the bakery items, while they are good, have tasted much better bakery items in Bangalore. Surprisingly, while it is a cafe they dnt serve pasta!!...It is a good cafe but food is not exceptionalMore
Imagine the aroma of freshly-baked cakes and Darjeeling in a warm, cozy & delightfully-decorated interior, while the cold, swathing wind blows outside ... & you'll know why this place is so special!
