A little bit difficult to find : on the right side of Nungambakkam High Road, step into the building with a petshop.... then ask for Dahlia. But once in place, you'll discover a great Japanese restaurant : great carte, nice sets. Food is perfect, served with smilles. Today, more than half the customers looked like Japanese people... : certainly a... More

If you want great, authentic Japanese food in Chennai, this is the place. Its a small, cozy place. They even have a large bookshelf with Japanese books, including some manga, and the TV normally plays Japanese channels. Let's get to the food. Practically everything I've ordered has been excellent. They never disappoint. The sushi and sashimi are great, with just... More

Are many years now that almost every time I go to Chennai I pay a visit to my favorite Japanese restaurant. Quite difficult to find it in a complex, right to Nungambakkam High Road, but when you've found it really worth. The regular costumers are Japanese and Korean, I tried almost all the dishes and so far I've never been... More

Don't get put off by the way to the restaurant... As u enter the place ul b pleasantly surprised. A small joint with around 10 tables. They had two Indian attenders who gave us the menu, warm towels and water (which was yellow in colour and smoky flavoured). The menu has pictures and English translations. Not too elaborate. We ordered... More

This restaurant is best described as a hole in the wall. Found in the most unlikely places, but serves the freshest and tastiest Japanese in the city. The age dashe is amazing, the variety of sushi and sashimi is as fresh as it can get. You must try their cold sake and enjoy the fresh and organic taste of the... More

Its a small joint snuck in the corner of a nondescript commercial complex in Nungambakkam. You will have to try hard to look for a signboard, but when you do - you have struck gold. Small restaurant with authentic Japanese style ground seating and tables and chairs. The crowd is usually Japanese and Korean expats. Revathi, the vivacious bubbly hostess/owner... More

My first visit to a Japanese restaurant.. there were Japanese all around.. thank god they had dining tables and chairs.. trying to sit on the floor and use chopsticks to pluck at my food would have been a disaster.. loved everything but the wasabe didn't agree with me.. warm sake didn't help either.. so stuck to the sushi.. some clear... The food is obviously up to standard when the Indians are the ethnic minority in the room! If you want the authentic Japanese dining experience, I really do recommend Dahlia. The food is classic Japanese and the owners are very particular that the seafood is fresh (you won't find any frozen smelly fish here) or they will not serve it.... More

It's nearly impossible to find the restaurant if you are first-timer. No frills, not in the least bit fancy, the focus of this restaurant is the authentic, fresh and tastefully presented Japanese food. Caution: We were craving sushi and went there on Aug 16, only to realise they were closed for the 'long weekend'. Remember to call them before you... More
