This shop is located near the front entrance of Mylapore Kapaleeswarar temple .. From the entrance, you have to walk for 50 metre next to the shoe keeping stall of the temple.. Coat of the food is not low as expected.. But, preparations are good...and you can feel a different taste as In Your house. Many regular customers come here and food is prepared only in a limited quantity.. The only problem that the new Comers to this shop could tell is - we have to eat standing in the road - waiting with a plate in hand for sometime in the road makes uncomfortable.. But, apart from the above comments, This shop is good for simple eats and with no artificial flavors..More

Popularly called “window shop” Jannal Kadai is located towards North mada street, at Ponnambala vaidhiyar Street, this shop serves delicious breakfast and evening snacks. Turning left from kapaleeshwar temple entrance, walking straight down the lane, on the right side this shop is located. They sell...popular bajjis, bondas, idlys, vadais and dosas too with coconut chutneys and sambhar. All these are freshly made and served hot. They also offer parcel services. A narrow street, that has enough space to stand and relish food. The serving people have also been courteous and have delivered the snack we order, in no time. I have been to jannal kadai inneumerable times, have eaten there and have done take always too. The crisp bajjis, vadais, the soft bondas and yummy Dosais, dipped in chutney and sambhar, the taste has lingered in my mouth for too long. A lovely must visit place in chennai, which is open in the evenings at 5.30pm.More

One of a kind food outlet. You buy food through window and eat the food while standing on a narrow lane. Super nice bajji and chutney. One for the experience and photo op if you're a tourist.

This is a small place which is near the entrance of Kapaleeswarar temple. This is not a restaurant where you can sit and enjoy your food. The food is served from a window of a house. There are good chances of missing this shop if...you are not watching keen. Coming to the food, they serve very good bajjis, vada and bondas. The chutney and sambar they serve along with the snacks are also extraordinary. In the late evenings they serve idlies also. This shop closes by 7:30 - 8:00 PM, so better to reach their early to taste their food.More

This place is legendary for their chutney. I am foodie and I didn't believe at the first time. Once I visit and taste the food and I realize their chutney is good. It's not an ordinary coconut chutney which you get everyday from your home...or a restaurant. Their poori, bajji & bonda are good. The Medhu Bonda(fresh) are like a cotton ball. The name Medhu bonda really apply for their bonda. I am not fan of Medhu vadai and Bonda. But after eating here, I am big fan of his Medhu Bonda. I don't recommend their Dosa & Kichadi. Health freaks, stay away from this place. People who are interested in ambiance also stay away from this place.More

Went to this place after darshan at Mylapore Kabaleeshwarar temple. When i went there at 7.30 p.m only bonda was available.Set of bonda cost around Rs.30.Even though it is little bit costly but the quantity is good. They gave coconut chutney and sambar .The taste was very...good since its a homely preparation. After eating bonda i saw some people were having bajji and dosa.Since my stomach was full couldn't taste it.Place is kind of ok.You need to stand in middle of a small lane to eat.More

Great place for eating bajjies on days of visiting Kapaleeswarar temple after circumlocuting the temple. The bajjies are crispy and there is always a crowd of like-minded friendly people thronging it. A place where you see different sets of people just to stand and eat...the piping hot bajjies with pungent coconut chutney. Awesome and salivating just to stand awhile and stare. The idlis with sambar here are also soft and fulfillingMore
