Somehow I don't like the concept of a "sit in buffet". How can it be called a buffet when I can't pick what I want, how much I want and WHENEVER I want?? Been to their Bangalore branch also; its the same concept. That is,...serve limited quantity, push the fillers first, prawns comes last, charge high, save food and earn big profits. These guys ask all the group members to be seated and only then they will start serving in the sequence of dishes as per THEIR WISH!! Galouti kabab is a great discovery according to them. Maybe they coined the word Galouti. It's supposed to be minced meat; but you can call it mashed meat because you never get to bite the meat at all. The fish is BASA fish which is a cheap and tasteless fish. Being a pricey restaurant, they can certainly offer Seer or better sea fish. After the starters, the main course is only mutton Biriyani and a chicken gravy which is obviously cold. If you bring it to their notice, they will heap the Biriyani and Gravy is Bowls, MICROWAVE it and serve it. Anyways, the Mutton Biriyani was not even Average. There are better places with REAL buffet and larger spread than this joint.More

This was a fun and educational experience. But be careful! The appetizers alone are enough to fill you up. I thought that was the end of the meal after the appetizers, however it was just the beginning! Fortunately, I had just enough room left to...try the lamb main entree and it was phenomenal. In fact, all the lamb dishes (appetizers and mains) were great. I wasn't such a fan of the chicken dishes but that's ok. I liked plenty of other dishes which was enough to earn a TA 4 rating here. Overall, it was quite an experience but wished I would have paced myself better. Another reason to visit in the future !!More

Chennai is definitely the land of gourmets and more cosmopolitan in good choices now . This is a popular restaurant for the non vegetarian lovers of North Indian cuisine ,though they have decent vegetarian options also . The Galouti kababs, Fish Tikka ,Biryanis , Naans...and kulfi are strong recommendations . Courteous and attentive service . Thanks and Kind regards MadhavMore

While transiting thru Chennai, we spent one night at the Radisson hotel. The Great Kebab Factory was located in the hotel. We ate there that night. The decor was pleasant and the noise level was slightly lower than in the hotel’s restaurant. We were seated...at a table and offered three choices - vegetarian, non vegetarian or a combination of both. Our party sampled all three options. Servers brought a succession of freshly made kebabs and grilled vegetables to our table, along with several sauces. The kebabs were tasty and the portions were large. They also brought freshly made Indian breads to the table. At first the servers brought food to the table quickly, but the service slowed down as our meal progressed. Then there was a long pause and we thought the meal had ended. Then our servers told us that the next item was a rice dish - chicken biriyani or curd rice. We were quite full by then and passed on the rice course. Then they brought several desserts in small dishes - baked gulag jamun, kheer (rice pudding), rabli (a milky sweet) and kulfi (icecream). The kheer was rather watery and bland. The baked gulag jamun and rabli were acceptable. They had three flavors of kulfi - mango, paan and pistachio. We preferred the pistachio kulfi. All seemed well when we left the restaurant at about 11 pm that evening. However, at 4 am (5 hours after we left the restaurant), one of us woke up with severe abdominal cramping and distension and vomited undigested food several times - the classic symptoms of acute food poisoning. This experience was very unsettling especially because we did not expect it to happen after a meal in a restaurant with a good reputation. The GKF was closed when we checked out of the hotel later that morning. So we spoke to the hotel manager and he said he would inform the restaurant.More

Excellent Kebabs in the South! Starting with the Galouti Kebabs which just melts in your mouth to succulent chicken and fish Kebabs to the real buttery Dal Makhani - great food. Service was brilliant too.

Except for the service and to a certain extent for the ambience, I have nothing to write about the food at this Great Kabab Factory. When you visit the kabab factory, you will have certain expectations - especially when you are used to the great...food in Delhi and Radisson Chennai (near airport). Not one dish came close to the expectation. We had three veg and one non veg meal. Both were very disappointing. Such poor quality of food damages "The Great kabab Factory" brand!! The service was pretty good.More

The concept of serving several kebabs as starters and ending with a small buffet meal was perhaps started by this Great Kebab Factory in Radisson Hotels in India some 20 years back which became a separate genre of restaurants offering kebabs and dinner. Four of...us visited this place for dinner and here also, please check with the manager for the liquor plus buffet scheme they have! Really a kill! The kebabs are served at the table. But not like Barbecue Nation where they keep a hot plate at the middle and kebabs served on skewers. Hence, the kebabs are not finished in front of you. They are served hot. Quite tasty. On that day, we were the only people the restaurant for most of the time. Hence, we got good service. In my opinion, kebabs served with hot plates, a better choice! But here, you pay for ambience and service!More
