We visited with family (including toddlers and senior citizens). The ambiance is fantastic, staff are warm and welcoming and three good is delicious.
Would highly recommend the prawns rissois ( karangi stuffed with prawns and a heavenly sauce), the mutton chilli fry (the meat just melted in your mouth) and kolambi khichadi.
The live music was the cherry on the cake. Parents absolutely loved the evergreen songs.
All in all, a great place to dine at.

Extremely Poor Experience. Very high handed attitude of the owner. In a service sector industry the owner made nasty remarks and racist remarks towards us. He also forced us the service charge (which is absolutely optional at the discretion of the customer, as per the CCPA laws). The owner ended up saying that we should eat elsewhere if we don't want to pay service charge ?!?On top of it he quoted some random court order on service charge, which does not exist. This restaurant has been featured but with this high handed attitude towards customers , am sure they will have a tough time ahead.

I'm still fuming after the appalling service I received at this overhyped restaurant. Despite shelling out a whopping ₹4000, the waiters treated us like dirt. As my friend was finishing her drink, the manager had the audacity to ask us to vacate the table, citing the arrival of another group, despite several empty tables staring them in the face!
This blatant disregard for customer satisfaction is unacceptable, especially in a high-end restaurant like Goa Portuguesa. Our previous experience with the owner's charm and hospitality meant nothing in the face of such unprofessionalism.
But that's not all - the staff's insistence on cash or GPay payments only, without prior notification, is nothing short of extortionate. This lack of flexibility and consideration for customers is appalling.
Great food means nothing when the service is this atrocious. Unless you enjoy being treated like a doormat, stay far, far away from Goa Portuguesa. The risk of being insulted is just too high!"

The place looks beautiful. Staff was courteous. Food was poor in taste. Grilled paneer starter was not juicy, taste was ok. Chutneys were poor in taste. Neer dosa, appm were average. Mix Veg gravy was very bad. Dessert sewai kheer was very low on taste. Food disappointed me. This is 'unchee dukaan feeka pakwan' kind of place. Expensive food too.

Horrible experience in their Mahim Branch
Four of us visited the Goa Portuguesa Mahim for their lunch on 9th April and the experience was extremely poor due to the following: - Too much for Salty Fired Fish Promfret with evasive salt on tisrya sukka.
We had to cancel the food as it was tasteless and salty
It seems the cook is highly uneducated and been appointed from Chinese Tapri.

Over-Rated Resto-Bar with a good menu, exuberant staff, snacks were good, but cocktails need to be improved.

Goa Portuguesa when I visited last had authenticity. But not today. May be they are trying to scale, it is loosing it. The malabari parathas was pre made. It is one of the worst kitchen decisions a chef makes to use pre-made malabari parathas and reheat them. The authenticity of a fluffy malabari paratha is in preparing it live. The mutton stir fry tasted like chilli chicken. Sweet. But, the ambience is still good. The server Samir was excellent.

The food is amazing here, must try for anyone who loves seafood especially! There’s so much variety and dishes to suit any and every taste palette. Our top picks: bombil fry, andhra prawns and chicken cafreal for starters and pomfret ghassi and appams for mains. Service here is excellent as well. We dined here on Christmas and Santa made a guest appearance and greeted us all with lovely goodies. Kids around us were really happy! Superb planning by the restaurant!
Overall, must visit place every time we are in the area! Can’t wait to dine here again!

I really like this restaurant because both veg and non veg guys can have a decent tasty meal. With a typical Goan ambience in the interiors , the welcoming atmosphere coupled with good service makes it a nice experience. They also have a guitarist for folk's entertainment. The staff is very polite. You get 3 menu cards, serving great variety of food. Best part, they let you order halfsies- so that even if you are a single non veg person in a group you can try multiple dishes without wasting much! Yay!!
I have ordered
Prawns Rissois: cooked in creamy while sauce and filled with cheese
chicken Roulde: chicken breasts stuffed with mushrooms and cheese
Tender coconut cashew nut sukke: tender coconut and tomato sauteed with tomatoes
paneer Bali Bali: paneer in red gravy
crab sukka: crab with shells in a typical Goan mix
veg chettinad: one of the best I ever had outisde south India
Mutton Vindaloo: mutton in red masala
In desserts my favourite would be vellayappam, a delicacy of Kerala and Halwa.
Eventhough it might seem a little pricy, food make it worth your money. No qualms about the quality whatsoever!

Goa Portuguesa is a lovely place to eat with family and friends. Nice Goan Portuguese ambiance. Food is awesome. Apams are just too good.......Service is ok.
Special desserts such as modak icecream, Bebinca, puranpoli icecream are some of the Out Of The Box features of this restaurant.
Valve for Money: A bit expensive.
Overall experience: Will rate 8/10.
A must go if you are a food lover.

Great choice of Food on the menu right from South Indian to Malwani and Goan dishes!! The Bombil Fry and the Goan fish curry with white rice is a great combination to go for! The Kerala food is not up to the mark, simply because they don’t use coconut oil to cook the food.
Excellent service by Vikas!

The experience was far below expectation especially in terms of the reservation and later the service. Advance reservation has got no meaning unless you are a large team (more billing). After a table was allocated the service was pathetic....the restaurant was fully occupied and to that respect it appeared to be understaffed. The eazy dinner offer may not be given automatically but you need to ask for it ....not a good gesture if one has to ask ! At the end the food was good !

This restaurant has been around a long time, catering to the increasingly popular demand for Goan food. Goa Portuguesa has successfully maintained the quality and value for money that it has always offered. The ambience/decor however is a pot pourri of styles: with lots of stained glass, mirrors, coloured lamps etc resulting in a rather kitschy effect, with just the exterior paying tribute to traditional Goan design.
