Staying in the hotel, we were lucky enough to have breakfast here everyday. Was really a great experience, excellent choice and service. Not a huge room, but always seated quickly, with some great views. Really enjoyed the table service and the selection on the buffet....Staff made it special…and maybe some of the history too. Would highly recommend.More

Fantastic Maharaja Afternoon Tea here. We asked for a window table with a view of Mumbai harbour and the staff obligingly placed us onto a list of customers waiting for the same. After half an hour or so we were relocated to the window table....The whole experience from the on point staff to the delicious food was amazing and delightful, highly recommendedMore

In one sentence. Go for the ambience , not for the food. The High Tea menu, sucks ad I mean sucks bad!. The price of 3,000 rupees plus tax per person, is a total ripoff . Who serves pani puri and Bhel puri and the...wakes masala chai. I could have paid little to nothing for that meal that we had at the Sea Lounge and had fantastic Masala chai. Service was not that great. Ambience, is what you are paying for. The solo pianist, was good. So, please don’t waste your money.More

Went for a high tea. With the family At 2 pm you still have diners finishing up their lunch so it’s not exclusively serving high tea . Tables with views may or may not be available. The high tea is predominantly reminiscent of an era...when people loved their mayonnaise and sugared treats. It totally is out of touch with the times today .No food is contemporary. All sandwiches are filled with mayo and it’s like a candy store for sweet lovers. The drinks they offer are canned and again not fresh. However the cheesecake was fabulous and rich and decadent. Even their chocolate desserts are divine . Then pretty much everything is average . Their prawns were over cooked and rubbery. Their fish tasteless. The bhel puri was not great either. Neither was their dahi puri. Only the pani puri pani pani was lip smacking good . Coffee selection also good. Tea mostly insipid. Service great as always . High tea at Sea Lounge can be happily given a miss .Not worth the price at all.More

I recently enjoyed afternoon tea at the Sea Lounge with my husband. We've had afternoon tea in other places before but none as memorable as the Taj. The service was absolutely outstanding, we were very well looked after. Special thanks to Mustakim and the other...staff who made our tea so enjoyable. We had the Indian afternoon tea and it was lovely to try so many foods from different places. The piano music was wonderful too.More

Nostalgia strikes as I enter the Sea Lounge. This time I have come to complete an item on my bucket list. The night before my mastectomy a few months ago, I had wanted to come and sit and gaze at the boats out at sea....Now, well on the way to recovery, as I sit here by the window, sipping an excellent soup and soaking in the feel, with the muted notes of the piano in the background, there is a wonderful sense of well- being. The service is excellent as usual, but I wish my ever favourite, the sundae Risky Rider was back on the menu again. Thank you, Taj!More

This place was amazing. Everything was great, the service, the food, the ambiance. Could not have asked for a better experience with my wife! Thank you to Mustakim for his awesome accommodation given our limited time window. Could not recommend this higher!

Clicked loads of pictures for lifetime since it was sort of reunion of...college friends. The food and beverage for the high tea was a mix of Indian and continental.Delicious deserts and yummy sandwich. The whole experience was amazing in all.More

I had an enjoyable stay at Taj Mahal Palace. The Sea Lounge is a great place to take in a beautiful view, grab a delicious meal or drink and experience the highest level of service. I visited a couple times and each time a personable...and helpful young man by the name of Mustakim made me feel at home, explained carefully each type of food I was unfamiliar with, and gave me good advice on what to see and do in the area. Next time I am in Mumbai, Sea Lounge will be my first stop.More

We went w high expectations, it was after all a restaurant in Taj Mahal Palace, but we left rather disappointed. The buffet line was not completely set up at 2pm. We were left at our tables for 10 min before we were served. The napkins...were not given out till we were well into our meal. I could name more, but you get the idea. The food was ok, but probably not good enough to make up for the rather shoddy service.More

We arrived just after 5pm for afternoon tea (served until 6.30pm) & it took at least 10mins to be given a menu & an explanation as to the buffet arrangements. We then asked for tea & coffee. One CUP of tea arrived but no coffee....The tea came with hot milk so I had to ask for cold which then came back in the same jug & there was the froth around the inside from the previous hot milk (I assumed!). No coffee so asked again. We then proceeded to serve ourselves from the buffet which was very nice Still no coffee so asked again plus asked for more tea which this time was served in a pot.......why the first was just a cup is a mystery. We continued with the buffet & still no coffee so asked again & this time one CUP came. We continued with the buffet during which we asked for a second coffee & again had to ask a 2nd time During the buffet the staff took forever to clear used plates from the table, which fortunately was large enough to not make a difference other than them being on view to us with bits of savoury tails from the prawns! .However it was disappointing when they returned cutlery that had been used for savoury items, back to us ready for reuse on sweet items - we had to ask for new cutlery! The buffet was very nice & enjoyable but the service was very poor & at one time, when I was ready to ask for the bill, one member of staff, in a suit so presumably a supervisor, was far more interested in reading their mobile phone than checking up on us We did not leave a tip which was the only time we have done that in our entire 4 weeks (to date) tour of India. As I say, go for the buffet but expect very poor service.More

For a famous establishment and hi tea there needs to be more attention to detail. Food plates not picked up from tables, Empty display plates of cakes etc empty at 5 pm. (Afternoon tea ends at 6.30 pm) Food needs to be topped up continuously....Would have been nice to know what tea styles were available. Quite a disappointing experience for the high price. English establishments do high tea/afternoon teas so much better. (From Australia)More

The food there was good no gonna lie but then we ordered for the taj club toast or some sandwich related to that name, named after the restaurant itself, we were expecting it to be good but it tasted pathetic with no flavours at all....Overall we felt that dish was waste of money and we ordered for two chai as well which tasted like water honestly a restaurant in mumbai we would’ve expected the chai should’ve been good.More

Abysmal layout...Poor preparation...Tardy Service. It also made me feel that it caters for a niche segment rather than many like me who would love to see a spread which is more INDIAN.
