Iconic this place is! Very busy atmosphere. Be prepared to wait in the queue as this place gets so busy at peak dinner times. Very pricey but its a must

Had to drop in here for a meal during our trip to Mumbai. Was very busy but got seated soon. They have a huge menu. It takes some time to decide what to have. But we decided on some beers and Chinese. Service was fast...and the portions big. We couldn't finish everything and had to take a doggy bag. But loved the vibe of the place and all in all a great experience.More
Well, I could not come to Mumbai and not eat at Leopolds. It's been on my bucket list since I read Shantaram years ago. It is a crazy busy place popular with locals and tourists. We got seated very quickly and then you are bombarded...with a huge menu to choose from. We picked our go dish - tandoori paneer while slow to arrive was delicious. Ordered other dishes too! It's got a great atmosphere and will go back next time we are in townMore
Extremely horrible customer service experience! The staff are really arrogant and careless! Me and my friend were made to sit at a table which was really filthy by the previous customers! When we requested to clean it, the staff rudely said "why didn't you guys...yourself move to some cleaner table instead of requesting us to clean this one"! Then upon the movement, we had to constantly remind about our order to the staff as they took it really casually to serve anything! Very very disappointing customer service!! Will never return to this, maybe they've become complacent with them being a popular cafe now!More
I’m used to go to the western bars in India just to get free Wi-Fi, not because I miss burgers & pasta… and this place does not provide a Wi-Fi service???! What? Come on.
Over priced despite the location. The wall posters all over the walls are a bit of cliche, which does not strike as interesting as it has been hyped about. We saw only 2 foreigners from the West, but the rest of the customers are domestic...travellers or Indians from overseas. The food portion is very small andcoffee or any drink is the same as the US price. We dont care about the holes on the wall. I dont find the holes that interesting. We didnt even bother to look at them. The place isnt air-conditioned. There are so many places all over India or even in Mumbai where you can get good generous Indian items. We remember Leopold as an expensive place and the the shop's is more toward making large profits. You Tubers never mention the truth. Once it has been promoted as an iconic restaurant, everyone would rush to get there. In our case, we went there for a respite from heat after walking quite a bit in Causeway area. Some staff members are friendly though. The food is tasty n despite its small portion.More
Leopold Cafe was recommended by friends, this restaurant is situated in the heart of a very busy market street. It's the Mumbai's version of an American diner with Indo-Asian cuisine. The service was great, food was delicious and brilliant atmosphere to grab a bite to...eat and socialise.More
visited for lunch. and were lucky that came earlier cause later people had to wait for seat. we had fish and chicken biryani, with butter roti. fish was good, biryani and roti very good. we sit on GF, space there is limited and tables small.
Old school bar, authentic, opened in 1871 and kept as it was. Also great to see the bar in real life where the main character from Shantaram had some of his adventures
What a fun place! Loved the buzz and eclectic mix. I enjoyed the wonderful contemporary art. Great place with friends.
Amazing Location & Ambience Chilly Chicken & Sizzler tasted good Do not get surprised by the black color of chilli chicken, it tastes good & spicy. LIIT & Beer are surely expensive. Pastry items are great. One can very well feel mumbai vibes here.
An iconic cafe, Leopold gives a mysterious vibe to its customers. Desserts are amazing and there is sufficient seating area for those who want to enjoy their cakes!
Super service, great food, fun, exuberant crowd, friendly staff, loved their customer service🙌. Value for money, reasonably priced for a restaurant of their stature.
I went here due to the sad tragic history background of this cafe. You can still see the bullet hole in the wall. However, it is not just because of their history, the food i had was amazing too! i ordered the chicken biryani rice....It was delicious, served in a separate bowl with condiments ... and it was spicy. Service was quick.More
I first visited Leopold's 7 years ago so I have no knowledge of how things were before the shootings in 2008 that were part of the terrorist attack on Mumbai. Returning last month I found the place outwardly the same as it was 7 years...ago. You will , understandably , given the previous attack , having your bag scanned. Most tourists coming here will know that Leopold's features in the book " Shantaram ". Leopold's was founded in 1871 by Iranian Zoroastrians. By the way , you will see evidence of Iranian/Parsee/Zoroastrianism all over South Mumbai. Nearby to Leopold's is Cusrow Bagh , an exclusive Parsee enclave. The tables are pretty tightly fitted in , menus are placed under the glass topped tables. I just had some fries & a lime soda which were decent enough. I was not that inspired by the menu , the prices are on the high side & I thought the service was a touch on the sullen side. My impression is that Leopold's is resting on it's past history & is in danger of becoming " a tourist trap ".More
