Good food and drinks. The food comes in very small portions and hence the food is expensive. But over all its very good.

Cannot recommend Bombay Canteen enough. Ambience is fun, food is amazing and service is fantastic. Kesari, our server, made the best recommendations and everything we had was just delectable! Definitely on my list for anybody that ever visits Mumbai
It was an amazing family lunch experience. Went for a chef’s experience and was really good! Innovative thinking of bring different Indian flavours together.
This was our second visit to The Bombay Canteen (TBC), because our initial experience was pleasant, we did spread the word. However, seems after the beloved Chef Floyd Cardoz, The Bombay Canteen has lost its charm, and needs to revisit its taste, portion, variety, and...specifically its hospitality. We visited TBC on 4th of June, 2022, had reserved a table for four, a week in advance from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm. Drove all the way from Pune, and were all ecstatic to celebrate a birthday. We reached well before our reservation schedule, just like any restaurant would like its customers to be present. The menu was limited but seemed like an array of delectable items. Our table attendant briefed us about some best-selling appetizers and drinks, and we were off looking forward to a scrumptious event. High hopes often lead to disappointment, and we were not only disappointed by the food taste and portion, but by the service too. In fact, the service was the foulest to reckon. TBC had set a benchmark for its curated menu, along with a decent portion that was in harmony with the price. We ordered a couple of appetizers initially. We were quite perplexed when the Tapas sized appetizers arrived. We did not understand if we were to just taste it or be too courteous amongst us by skipping the taste and imploring the other members to have an extra bite. We ordered three more appetizers and boy…neither could we fathom the taste nor satiate the appetizing hunger. The disheartening start was reflecting on our face. Our drinks too were a buzzkill. Excessive ice is just going to make the drink freezing cold, and overcome the liquor intensity. We just doused the drinks to mellow down the spicy food. We ordered another round of drinks but the outcome was even worse. Now comes the most inexcusable cringe worthy experience. The wait-staff were literally hovering around our table. Like hawks, they eyeing our plates, just waiting for the last bite to be taken, then they would swoosh away the empty plate and ask us what we want to order next. Like right in the face! Initially it looked funny, we also jested that TBC is short on plates and cutlery, so better hurry up. However, at this stage at least 50% of the tables were vacant. Gradually, it seemed like a deliberate attempt to ask us to leave, so that they could seat in more guests. They were ignorant to the extent where they just picked up our cocktail glasses. We had to grab our glasses, as our drinks were still present in the glasses. We also over heard a couple of the wait-staff that, “they are almost done, go get the plates and the next order”. We do understand the importance of the food business on a weekend, but we still had an hour at hand for our reservation slot to end, and the restaurant was half-vacant. At this moment, we thought of moving to another restaurant to continue with the main course. However, thought of spending time on locating another restaurant then deciding on the food order, made us order the main course at TBC. We just went for one dish. The ordeal continued with the ridiculous portion, the paltry service, and the mediocre taste. We rushed through our meal and asked for the cheque. We were still famished, and went to another restaurant to complete our meal. We paid 8,100 INR for below average, tapas sized food, repulsive hospitality, and were still hungry for a proper meal. This is a good example of daylight robbery! It is absolutely disheartening especially when you are celebrating your spouse’s birthday with close friends. The entire experience is ruined, and this sticks around in our memory.More
Superb. Food, ambiance, staff, modern, trendy, fun, cocktails, relaxed. As a westerner I can say that there is no reason to not visit.
This is a lovely restaurant. Quirky, innovative food. Not your usual Indian cuisine (albeit compared to our standard ‘UK’ experiences) Well worth a visit
Everything is delicious, perfect service- our waiter was Karik who couldn’t have been more knowledgable about the food and recommended great cocktails! Would recommend 100%!
That is an actual fusion food. Experimentation of combination of flavours is spot on ! from starters to dessert - fantastic ! a must try ! delightful ambience in the restaurant
We have eaten several times in Bombay Canteen as our office is located in Kamla Mills compound. Whole roasted trout - who fish from the Himalays (As per wikipedia "Trout are closely related to salmon" but its a fresh water fish) 10/10👏👏👍 6. I have visited this restaurant number of times. The last visit was in February before the pandemic. The restaurant is one of the best in Mumbai, though on a costlier side. Ambience: The place is lively, great for family outings or hanging out with friends....It is usually crowded. Service: The staff is courteous and is able to explain all the dishes perfectly. Their suggestions are also good. Menu options: They keep on changing the menu from time to time. They have enough options for both veg and non veg. Innovation in Dishes: They have certain dishes which are unique in terms of taste(Eggs Kejriwal), ingredients used (green tomato butter Chicken) and also the preparation(Gulab nut). Taste: Go for the dishes the servers recommend. They are excellent, other dishes are ordinary.More
