Very very basic home cooked typical Marathi style snack joint. It's famous for its consistent food quality for decades. Always good place to have snack time.waiters are very humble and hard working makes the places very casual n homely. No fancy decor or music. Eat enjoy and goooooo!

Dropped by on a whim, but the food was anything but. The missal (mind you - no pav has been served, ever!) Any and every item is a must have, end it with a nice cup of tea and a friendly chat/slice of history from the friendly ('legendary places' tend to have snobbish waiters) waiters.

A legendary restaurant/eatery serving authentic Maharashtrian [Vegetarian] cuisine. Finding a place to sit here is still difficult; don't be surprised if you have to share the table with strangers. The service is fast & very efficient. The waiters are dressed in a very unique uniform; white trousers, rose pink shirt and a white Gandhi topi [cap]. After you are done... More

We were in the vicinity last weekend and searching for a quick snack joint and luckily chanced upon this place. Saw the snap of their famous Sabudana Wada at the entrance (article from New York Times) and decided to try it instantly - tasted good especially with the white peanut chutney, lot of crunch from the roasted peanuts and surprisingly... Amazing place to try the best Maharashtrian food in a veggie friendly atmosphere and homely atmosphere.....you get a nostalgic feel due to the age old table chairs and staff dressed in typical Maharashtrian attire

Their Puri Bhajji is something you could swear by although the ambience is lousy. Be prepared to share your table with complete strangers. The service is no great shakes but the food more than makes up for it. Missal, Kothambir vade, Puri Baji, Thalipet and the likes are simply awesome.

It is an open joint with tables. Sit where ever you want and you will not get a table for yourself. There will strangers sitting next... More

Nice Marathi food and good place for vegetarian snacks. Misal and Vada was nice. Poha was average. They run out of food very fast so we didnt get to eat thalipeeth. Kokam sharbat was also very refreshing. Service was good but can improve further.

If you are in Dadar you must definitely try this place. Sabudana wada, puri bhaji and piyush test truly amazing. White chatni served with Sabudana vada is superb.
