Finding it was a bit difficult as it said it’s near Lalit hotel on other reviews.. if you look for residency hotel in the fort area and look across the road you will find this place.. I had a prawn thali and didn’t know what to expect ! From my first bite I knew I had come to the right place.. also had the Bombay duck which was spot on !! Place was very clean and organised - would definitely recommend!!

Gowmantak food is originally from malwan region of Maharashtra. Pradeep gomantak is a small bhojnalay(mainly serves thalis) in fort and very popular among the people working in nearby area since they serve simple , home style fresh food with limited menu and very economical. This place is always busy and need to queue up to get a seat so always reach before 12:45pm for lunch or else have to share a table with others or maybe have to wait long. The service is good and waiters are quick to take your order and serve you faster so that people waiting outside can be accommodated. Food is very satisfying , simple and healthy. A thali has 2 chapatis, non veg curry, sol kadi, rice along with onions and coconut chatni. I have tried almost everything here they have like sukha chicken, mutton, and lots of variety of sea food thali like pomfret, halva, shark, prawns etc. My all time favourite is shark/prawns curry & kokum kadi. The curry are quite spicy so taste of tangy kokum is must to have. Overall it's a very popular to have a quick regular home style malwan food for lunch or dinner.

We had been twice to this place & it's worth eating sea food here then any other so called konkani malvani food outlet nearby. Its damn cheap 120-150 for thali which is enough to full you . one think which i didn't like is the kokam kadi but can be improved.

The place is usually crowded during peak hours of lunch time as the same is situated in the prime business center. PGB serves gomantak food which is originated from malwan/ coastal Konkan region. The seating arrangement is limited and rates are reasonably priced. Their regular non veg thali is consisting of roti, rice, fish curry, Sol Kadi and chatni. Add On like Mackerel fish fry is costing Rs. 120/- for the Thali which is quite reasonable. Service is fast and place is clean & well kept.

this was hard for us to find, but only because we can't read hindi! the sign on the store front is not in english and most surrounding businesses are- hopefully this fact will make it easier for others to find. we loved our meal here and enjoyed talking with the owner. we arrived just as she was closing the shop down and she opened back up, just for us. they're in my video at 1:55 https://vimeo.com/133303390

Tucked away in a small lane is Gomantak near the Sena Bahvan.....and the food here is brilliant!....ordered the chicken kadai based on one of the previous reviews and it was to die for....coming to their speciality the pomfret thali is a decent one! .....overall a good experience! A budget restaurant which definitely needs to expand!

This is not a place to bring a date to nor is it a place to linger. But they don't promise that in any case. What they do promise is tasty non veg curries and fresh seafood fried just right. An array of Thalis ranging from the humble bangda to the more coveted rawas, they also have mutton and chicken options. You can expect to find people queuing up outside at lunch time and willing to share tables with strangers. Great value for money, they have waiters moving down the isle refilling your katoris with an endless supply of curry to spice up the two mounds of rice with. Go here when you are looking for taste and not ambiance and it will tick all the boxes

Small eatery, easily missed (it is very understated!) in the Fort area of south Mumbai. Traditional Hindu Goan/ Konkani cuisine with a workman-like simple but hectic atmosphere (have seen officegoers on their break queueing for precious minutes/half hour just to eat here!! Lunch time is manic...goes to show how popular they are! Pomfret thali is outstanding served with the fried dry fish, one vegetable, salad onions, chutney, chapati followed by rice & the soul-satisfying 'sol kadi' (made from the coastal equivalent of tamarind > kokum!!). Prices may have changed but doubt their popularity has! The orders of the Konkani manager shouting away the client requests & the aroma from the adjacent kitchen still reminisced every so often! Waiting to visit again...

A tiny and very simple local cafe, open at lunchtime only, where you can have a satisfying and extremely inexpensive vegetarian thali and a range of other dishes. Limited English spoken but English menu available.
