White charcoal restaurant is located in the Empresa Hotel on SAB TV lane. We had visited it for a family outing and were bowled over by its exquisite ambience. The restaurant decor is very beautiful and the staff is extremely courteous. Our first impression was...that we have come to a 5-star hotel restaurant and we were not disappointed as the steward approached our table and placed a fragrance diffuser. When we perused the menu card however, we were disappointed by the limited choices available. We found the portion sizes not at all enough to go around the table. The prices also were felt to be exhorbitant. All in all it was a not so great experience.More

I had never been to this place before and it was quite a surprise. Fine dining in the truest sense. I could not have imagined that Indian flavours can be so differently used and mixed. The service was fabulous and I absolutely loved my experience...at this place. Here is what I tried: Dahi bhalla ice-cream - If you don't mind a kinda cold starter I would recommend you to please try this because it is not something you would have tried before. The textures and the flavours are very different. Cheese fritter Chaat - there were different kinds of paneer fried together with spicy masala and topped with okhra and served with navratan chutney and raita. It was absolutely wonderful and a perfect starter for the evening. For the main course I went for the 'Litthi Chokha' . It is a proper meal for one person and is very filling and ample flavourful. The dessert was a Spanish cake served with saffron milk. What a brilliant dessert it was. Very very good.. highly recommend it. When here please try their signature drinks ..I tried the spiced passion and it was absolutely fab. There was an aroma show before the dinner and everything was very nice. Altogether I had a wonderful experience .More

The ambience is good, but the management doesn't know how to go about. The food was pathetic, everything we ordered was not up to the mark, and to top it all when we complained they agreed with it that brownie was stale but they refused to...compensate, the fish was stale and bland no taste the chef also apologized. But say it all not worth the visit again we spoilt our birthday celebration.More

Perfect place to celebrate your special day with your loved ones. Candle light dinner with live music. Had a tomato soup which is something different from regular soups. It’s like a vegetable clear soup served with a momo, among starters you can have frozen Dahi...Wada which is awesome. Desert is again mouth watering.More

Hello to all the foodies out there. This time we visited the place called white charcoal which is in Andheri West. This place is famous for the modernization of the Indian dishes. Every dish has a little twist which looks great and tastes great. Ambience:-...As we enter we see the beautiful combination of classic white and black. The name stands by its meaning as soon as we see the ambience. They had just worked on the seating and the floor but still, it was looking royale. There was slow music was also going on which turned our mood warm. . For Ambience 9.5/10 Service & Staff:- We had a warm welcome from the staff and guided to our seating. One guy came and put the table cloth on our lap and another guy came with some yellow liquid in the jar and dry ice another vessel. He pours the dry ice in the yellow liquid which cover the whole table in the smoke and had a very quiet pleasant aroma surrounding us and the table. then we got a salad with chilly powder and jeera salt powder and watermelon chat. The service speed was average but quite bearable. . For Staff & Service 9/10 Food & Drinks:- We had a cocktail, a mocktail, a couple of starters, a couple of main courses and a couple of desserts. . Before serving any dish we were served with salad and watermelon as a sort of waiting for timepass. Watermelon chat was really good. . Strawberry Sunset ( Mocktail ) - Strawberry puree with the soda. It was fizz. It was good. I was feeling like I am having strawberry. Best Strawberry mocktail I ever had. Must-Try. RECOMMENDED. 5/5 . Maharaja's Tipple ( Cocktail ) - Orange Clove old fashioned with thyme and saffron mist. It was OK had a strong smell of rosemary and twisted taste of herbs. 4.5/5 . Dahi Bhalla Ice Cream ( Small Plates ) - Dahi Bhalla but it was cold. It was more of icecream scoop served with sour mango dal moth chaat and sheet of tamarind chutney and sweet yoghurt. I liked this. Dahi Bhalla with a modern twist. 4.5/5 . Torched Paneer Rasgulla Tikka ( Small Plates ) - Paneer in shaped of rasgulla was covered in tomato-based gravy and torched with a blow torch and served avocado corn tartare. 4/5 . Ambala Shahi Paneer ( Main Plates ) - Paneer Dumpling cooked and served with creamy tomato. It was not spicy little sweet. 4/5 . Charcoal Dal ( Main Plates ) - They claim that they cooked the dal for 24 hours. I don't know that but the taste was good. The spices and herbs were tickling the bud. Must-Try, RECOMMENDED. 5/5 . Chocolate Ghewar ( Dessert ) - Rajasthani Sweet with a twist of chocolate and rabdi. It had a berries syrup which was little sour. 3.5/5 . The texture of Milk ( Dessert ) - Mishri Mawa, Kulfi & Rabdi Brulee and Malaiyo. It had different milk dessert. 4.5/5 . At the end we were served as Paan Sorbet which was the best. . For Food & Drinks 8.5/10 Overall Experience:- Place was perfect to have a fine dine with your date or with your special one and family. . Overall Rating 4.6/5More

White charcoal is based completely around a black and white theme! The place id absolutely beautiful, elegant and classy! The Ambience is superb, the lights are amazing, the seating arrangement is royale, the service is fancy, infact even the cutlery is fancy! So when you...arrive here you are greeted with utmost respect and they welcome you with an Indian Aroma smoke theatre stuff! The aroma was really good, they also provide you with palate cleanser so that you enjoy the meal completely! Coming to food: In mocktails we tried *Strawberry sunset* strawberry based drink having nice refreshing taste and also a very distinct colour of the drink! I think they don't use excess of sugar in any drink and just let the sweetness of the fruit shine so this drink was not that sweet but it was really tasty! ⭐⭐⭐⭐ *Frozen lemonade* I mean slushes are my favorite, they have choices of flavours and I ordered for orange and mint, the entire glass was thick icey cold mixture of orange and mint directly blended together! The taste was something different which I had never tried before. I loved it ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ In food: *Tandoori chicken poppers* oh these were so yumm! Super cripspy on the outside and having great amount of chicken tandoori and also some cheese and stuff! Really tasty! ⭐⭐⭐⭐ *Nalli Nihari kebab* if you are a mutton fan and you happen to visit this place, do not skip from ordering this, The prices of tender mutton nalli cooked so nicely in a sauce having the most amazing taste! The chef personally recommends this dish and also cooks it with all his heart i suppose! Its a class apart dish ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ *Dum ka murg and chur chur naan* the chicken pieces were tender, cooked in a gravy made from cashews and cream and coconut, it was nice The chur chur naan was super crispy and also soft at the same time! The combination was really good and you can order this and won't regret ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Dessert: *Chocolate soil and black pepper ice cream* I mean "agar yeh nahi khaya toh kya khaya" The dessert presentation is superb, the taste is superb! Its all very royal! The dessert comprises of 70% dark chocolate mouuse, a chocolate soil, some amarath, some chikki and black pepper icecream! If I only begin to describe how each of the component blended so well with each other and gave a complete feeling i have short of words! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ *Apricot Hazelnut Samosa* Again another classic, samosa the coating of which is super thin, super crisp and just having the taste like filo pastry stuffed with apricot and hazelnut mix and dryfruits and served with a side of almond foam! Nothing can go wrong with such fancy desserts! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Visit this place for a pure gastronomical experience and I promise you will enjoy every dish thoroughly! The food is unique, the drinks are great and if for nothing do visit to try their dessert menu! We are thankful to Abhishek for being a kind host and for being so prompt and quick in service! Overall: Food: 9/10 Ambience: 9/10 Quantity: 8/10 Quality: 9/10 Service: 9/10 Value for money: 8/10More

The term White Charcoal seems contradictory but this Oxymoron termed restaurant is one of the best fine dine restaurant I have visited recently. From the ambience to décor to staff to their service everything is minutely crafted and delivered for a lasting client experience. And...most importantly the food offerings be it their chic plating or an artistic presentation a gastronomical journey is what dining at White Charcoal is all about! Visited for dinner on a Thursday night with a friend to relish a 3 course meal here. Started off with Appetizers : The Halim Baklava (4 pieces) served on a light phyllo hollow base topped with finely minced mutton with a touch of mozzarella cheese to complete the light creamy effect on these. A must order for people who appreciate quality! The Murgh Kurchan (Stuffed Kulcha) packed a bomb of flavors; 3 portions of round kulcha with minced chicken stuffed inside with the right spices added in. Served along with a dash of mint chutney these were really delicious. (Recommended) Moved on to Mains : Kashmiri Muslim Rogan Josh : A signature dish at White Charcoal and the first bite will make you realize why!!! A whole lamb shank along with 5-6 boneless pieces served in semi thick flavorful gravy, the meat came off the bone with no efforts and literally melted on our palates; this was paired with Chur Chur naan which upped the quotient of the entire dish even more. (A Must Try) Awadhi Ghost Biriyani : Flavors on point with generous pieces of succulent boneless lamb pieces added in with a touch of saffron & cardamom topped with oodles of barista made this one a flavorful biriyani. Finally some signature Desserts (The best part of my meal) : Apricot & Hazelnut Samosa : Suggested by our server and we decided to go for it, beautifully presented 3 pieces of samosa stuffed with Date mash and drizzled with coffee flavored sauce. As far as experimenting goes this would be a Pass and we loved it. Do try it out if you are bored of the regular desserts! Saffron Tres Leches : A signature in-house dessert and probably the best version of Tres Leches I have tried. The touch of saffron gave this a superior taste and again the presentation was on point; it literally looked like the crown jewel of our entire meal. (Definitely Recommended) I must say White Charcoal is a place where you dine in to enjoy the finer things of food they have to offer! A courteous and well informed staff along with quick service and impeccable food made White Charcoal truly a unique fine dine restaurant! A must visit for any special occasion or when you want to treat your palates to something special!More

The white Charcoal is a fine dine restaurant located at Andheri Mumbai. The restaurant has really cosy and Vibrant Ambiance. Perfect for amazing meal experience. The cool and romantic Ambiance makes this place really amazing. The restaurant has sitting capacity of around 120+ people approximately....And can be easily located on Google maps. The Empressa restaurants is been known for its amazing hospitality and mouthwatering food. The food has got some really amazing flavors. The staff here also really cooperative and friendly. Their recommendations for the food and drinks are really amazing. Also the well known north indian dishes are presented in most unique way. They also have really amazing plated desserts. The stafff knows the dishes really well. They have really nice options in jain dishes also. In the beginning, The pineapple with really nice herbs are on your table for palate cleansing. The bowl of salad along with some amazing chaat powder is complimentary. Their Mocktails also are really refreshing we tried Strawberry Sunset Frozen lamonade mango. The white Charcoal has got really nice range in all the categories of their menu. From the menu, we tried Ice-cream Dahi bhalla: First time ever seen dahi vade in this style. The frozen curd with really nice textures and the mashed vade served like an ice cream. The dahi bhalla had a base of tamarind. The sweet in starting and spicy at the end was really good. Pomegranate and spicy sev enhanced the flavors. Highly recommended. Indori corn khees tempura : The cheese corn balls served along mojito apples and Salted boondi. The chutney was really amazing, made from bhavnagari chilly. The soft and flavorful balls were going really well. This balls were looking really rich in texture and looks. Ambala shahi paneer: One of the best mains of white Charcoal for vegetarians. The soft paneer balls were served along with rich, less spicy and red gravy. Along with it tried their Malabar paratha and zaatar olive naan. Highly recommended. Veg. Dum biryani: the biryani was really nice. Long rice piece along with all spice rich and crunchy veggies & soft paneer was really good. The raita was also going well with the biryani.. They have nice and amazing plated desserts and from the Rajasthan, ghevar had a new look, so tried Chocolate ghevar. Traditional ghevar topped with chocolate, rabdi and lots of dryfruit. The ghevar had a base of little tangy and sweet, mascarpone cheese. Overall had a great time with family. Thanks to management for hospitality and delicious food. Special thanks to mr. White & Black – Absolute Combo In the world of colours everywhere, some masterminds come up with out of the box ideas which will leave you surprised. White Charcoal at Empressa Hotel is one of a kind in Mumbai City. Amazed by the menu curated...by well-known chef Ajay Chopra by bringing out the best in Indian cuisines and flavours with a slight twist to it only a master chef can do it. Every dish here has some or the other fusion representing different regions of India. I must say there is much more to explore in our country. Want to experience some of it then do visit White Charcoal. 1> Torched Paneer Rasgulla Tikka – Big Bang!!! Who could have thought of representing our regular sweet rasgulla into something tangy & sweet? Here our regular rasgulla is not sweetened instead it is stuffed with dry fruits from inside and from outside it is marinated with coating given to paneer tikka. Best Part is when the cook comes up with a blower and gives medium flame to the rasgulla from top. Also they are laid on top of avocado sauce and topped up with papad. 2> Haleem Baklava – Brilliance!!! Consistency of the paste was out of the world!! Simply melts in your mouth bursting out the mix flavour of spices, meat, barley and wheat. It is placed on Round shape baklava. Ideally you will find baklava in the dessert section but here it is in the appetizers can you believe….Kudos!!! A must try. 3> Khandeshi Masala Pulled Chicken – Initial impression looked like a dessert but then the attendant came and deconstructed the dish leaving it in a position as if a minor earthquake shook the small building. Taste wise it was spicy and tangy. Chicken was properly cooked and went well with biscuit bhakri. 4> Awadi Gosht Biryani – Ummmm Biryani is BAE!!!! After a long time had lamb biryani. Long grain rice cooked in ghee along with succulent pieces of cooked lamb with dough covered on top. Burp!!! Oopps so full after relishing it raita. 5> Chocolate Ghewar – Here’s another fusion…..traditional Rajasthan ghevar topped with chocolate ganache placed along with orange mascarpone sauce. With all three in spoon once in your mouth tons of sweetooth starts hustling here and there. Drink: 1> Pearl of the Orient – So it is a gin based drink with concoction of litchi, gin, rose - coconut foam and garnished with kesar. Each sip seems to be sweet at the start but with time passing by you kind of feel tipsy…. Well done Mixologist. 2> Strawberry Sunset – Well it’s a mocktails with mix of strawberry, orange & peach. Refreshing and soothing Ambience – Proper fine dine experience is what you will experience at White Charcoal. Recommend to visit this place with your family/ bae for a memorable evening. Entire set up is so soothing calm to your eyes as you enter inside. All the tables are well presented with cutlery and wine glass adding glory to it. They have a private dining section for a group of people and diagonally opposite to it is the family section which has comfy sofas. Music playing in the background is also soothing and peaceful. Service – As we sat down they came up with glass having spiced water and dry ice. Once the spiced water was poured inside the glass having dry ice all we could see is smoke arising out which was essentially to make the atmosphere refreshing. Mind blowing concept. Thereafter we were given amuse bouche (complimentary appetizer) which was hung curd to cleanse our tongue and palate so that we could enjoy the actual taste of food. At the end they came up with a closed rectangular box out of which smoke was trying to escape and once opened in front of us it was heaven with a bowl containing paan shots/sorbet looked like emerald. Just gulp it and your dinner is complete. All this was possible because of our attendants Mr. Sunil & Nikhil. Thank you for such a wonderful evening. A big thank you to Chef Rajendra for explaining us the concept behind white charcoal. Food – 5/5 Drinks – 5/5 Service – 5/5 Ambience – 5/5 All I would say come and experience White Charcoal to relish the flavours of India!!!More

Best fine dine restaurant I have experienced till date.  This isn’t just a review for this place but it’s the feeling of every minute shared there. I thank the team of white charcoal for making it a memorable experience. Chef ajay chopra has crafted every dish...so simple and exclusive at the same time. Welcoming us with white charcoal’s special aroma, mango flavored appetizer which enlightens your hunger bud with freshly cut salad served with chat masala was so warming. Ambience, music, service is just perfect♥ Started with a bar special made MARGARITA ORIGINAL which was a red wine based drink. Along with all time favorite, RED WINE SANGRIA with freshly cut apple slices. Whattttta a start!!! For starters:- DAHI BHALLA ICECREAM:- Yes you heard that right. It’s a special dish which tastes like dahi bhalla chat. I wonder how this dish was invented by chef ajay chopra. Its served with sour mango dal mooth chaat, black jack papdi & tamarind chutney sheet. As a starter this is the best dish in the house I would recommend everyone of you reading this to order and you will never regret that! CRISP PANEER FRITTER CHAAT:- Exactly what it sounds! Crisp paneer fried and equally soft from inside served with kurkuri bhindi, navratna chutney & signature raita. Paneer lovers, go get this dish!!! KHOYA MATAR KATAIFI:- chatpata taste of matar filling inside served with lemon tomato sauce with crispy threads covering. Unique soft taste inside with exactly opposite crunchy thread layers outside. Was’nt spicy at all so no need to worry just incase. A must try!!! KASHMIRI ALOO DUM is a lipsmacking sabzi. I am aloo lover and I love love love trying aloo dishes. This dish when served it had 4 aloo pieces with rose petal placed on each one. At first I thought it's not supposed to consume but it was so great🙈 DAL CHARCOAL:- White Charcoal's signature dish, slow cooked for 24 hours in home churned butter. It was perfectly mixed with spices served with butter on top.  CHURCHUR NAAN is something new invented. Chur chur naan is a crunchy version of naan. Definitely better than butter naan. In desserts:-  SAFFRON TRES LECHES is a Spanish dish with Indian touch, made in three different milk content. The base isn't much sweet and is soft. Condensed milk gives that a very creamy bite. Good one!  Ending with the most special dish of the house!  ROSE PETAL ICE CREAM:- I have had this ice cream earlier in Rajkot (native), gujarat by the name "Gulab". But this one has taken my heart. Not comparing any dishes but complementing this is just not enough.  The crunching bite of ice cream with fresh rose petals on is soothing your soul. One of the best rose petal ice cream ever had. Do not miss out on this guy's!!!! Must visit ♥ loved the service ♥ loved the ambience ♥ loved the food and presentation ♥ lots of love to the team of white Charcoal. Thank you for such a great evening. Will be back soon :)More
