About
The story of the journey began way back then in 1959 from a modest little dhaba, with simple wooden benches and tables, has today transformed into an elegantly ornated Fine Dining Restaurant, known for its great North Indian, Mughlai, Hyderabadi and Tandoori cuisine. The journey still continues. In the quest for creating a better dining experience, Gulati was remodeled totally with fresh new and tasteful interiors in 2013 that enhanced the flavors of the food served to its clientele. The look is spacious and warm and much appreciated by all. With an extensive and lavish menu spread over a hundred and seventy five exotic recipes, it is a discerning foodie’s delight! Starting with the all time favourite Butter Chicken, voted as the best in town by many polls, The Dal Makhani, again voted as the best, The Burrah Akbari, The Kakori Kebab, The Murgh Malai Tikka, The Hyderabadi Dumpukth Biryanis, The Veg Galouti Kebab, The Dahi Kebab are just a few of the mouth watering items on the menu.

We went there on a Monday night, at around 9.30 pm and had to wait half an hour to get a table for two. That's unheard of on a Monday night, which probably has the lowest traffic for any restaurant, after the weekend. A testimony to its popularity! And rightly so! I am not a connoisseur of butter chicken, but this one was truly one of the better ones I have tasted. We also had a portion of Mushroom Galouti... melt in the mouth stuff. Definitely worth the visit! And worth going again, when next in Delhi.

We were worried about eating in Delhi as we had heard a lot of horror stories of the infamous Delhi belly! We found this place on trip advisor and saw the good reviews so we went and went again! The restaurant is in a nice quiet location. The staff are very friendly and they speak good English. The menu is easy to understand and the restaurant was clean. The butter chicken is incredible, although very rich so don’t over order! We ordered some bread and rice to go with it and it was very tasty. The best thing is that we felt fine the next day! Because we knew it was good, we went back the second night, not wanting to risk our luck with another restaurant. This time we ordered a chicken platter which was amazing, the butter chicken again and some bread. Very very tasty and portions are very generous. Price was very reasonable (although expensive for India I guess) but worth every penny.

If you are food lover especially non veg then this is the place to be. One of the best butter chicken in Delhi is at Gulati Restaurant. The buffet lunch on the working days is also fantastic. The pricing is slightly on higher side but the quality of food is very delicious and sumptuous. Biryani is not great but ok variety.

We had read lots of good reviews about this restaurant and decided to give it a try during lunch. We ordered mixed veg, yellow dal and tandoori roti and really relished the food, the service and the portion per serving. The decor is nice and pleasing. However, on the pricing front, we found it was priced exorbitantly. Like Chaach per glass was Rs.220 plus taxes. Gulati management needs to reconsider their prices if they want to maintain their clientele.

This iconic restaurant in Pandara Road Market began life as a dhaba in 1959, and has since become one of Delhi’s most popular North Indian restaurants. If you go by the huge number of certificates and awards that are framed and put up all along the wall facing the main door, you’d think the entire competition would have been long wiped out. Seven of us, including one child, came here for lunch on a Sunday. We already knew that Gulati tends to have long lines forming up very quickly, so we made sure that we booked a table in advance, for 12.30. Despite that, even before we could order our meal, the restaurant had filled up. The buffet at Gulati seems to be hugely popular, because almost every table around us was opting for that. We ordered à la carte, though: fresh lime soda (mixed, but I couldn’t taste the salt in mine at all), palak patta chaat (very good; several of us at the table felt this was the best dish of all that we had), and paneer tikka. For the main course, we ordered two of Gulati’s signature dishes: dal makhni and butter chicken. With that, we also ordered a masala fish curry, and an array of breads: butter naan, plain naan, lachha paratha, pudina paratha. For dessert, we ordered kulfi. The masala fish curry was too heavily spiced to be enjoyable. The butter chicken and da makhni, while good, were nothing exceptionally. Honestly, if the same dishes from some other popular Delhi restaurants, like (say) Moti Mahal or Kwality were placed alongside this, I doubt I would be able to tell which was Gulati’s. It’s just like any other good butter chicken or dal makhni. Service was so-so; most of our dishes took a very long time to come, and one dish (the paneer tikka), though we’d asked for it to be served with the main course, came well before, along with the palak patta chaat. My advice: it’s really not worth the long wait.

It will be difficult to add anything new to the almost 2000 5-star reviews that were already written about Gulati, and I am not a serial producer of restaurant reviews. But I had to leave this place a top review because they took such good care of me. I am a serious Celiac and traveling (and eating!) in India has been a delight. Generally spoken, if you stay away from their flatbreads, mostly everything else is gluten free. Wherever I go in the world I always carry a printout from Celiac Travel, in this case in Hindi, and present it wherever I eat. The staff at Gulati took it extremely serious. The manager was called and two or three people read the explanation word for word, and then advised me on my food choices. My partner and I were reluctant to order the butter chicken, as it is overly popular outside India. But we are glad we did after all. We also ordered delicious lamb Rohan Josh, and rice. During our month long trip through India we ate some amazing dishes. The food at Gulati certainly made it into our personal top five list. It was just wonderful. The flavours in these two curries were layered. With every spoonful we discovered new spices. We will absolutely go back there before we leave Delhi!

No trip to Delhi is complete for any self-respecting foodie without a meal at the infamous Gulati’s restaurant on Pandara road. We had the excellent (and expensive) tasting menu at Indian Accent only two days earlier, but even that fine meal was eclipsed by the sublime tastes at Gulatis. Their USP is clear to see - expertly crafted authentic Mughlai dishes and flavours done better than anyone else at a very reasonable price point Words cannot do the food justice so I won’t try, except to that we had their butter chicken (on the bone) and paneer labadar, and I cannot recall ever having had better versions of these dishes anywhere else. The food is complemented by excellent service. Special thanks to Omprakash at front of house for his perennially jovial and warm welcome, and Hitender (floor manager) who was very attentive and engaging. Ps they don’t take bookings but even if there is a queue, it usually moves quite quickly and is worth the wait!

So, after hearing so much about this legendary outlet in Delhi, finally went in there to have dinner with friends. We were so hungry and tired that we straight away ordered main course. The legendary Butter Chicken, Paneer Dhaniya Adraki, Garlic Naan and Plain Tandoori Roti. Butter Chicken was yumm, not like everywhere else where you only taste the tomato gravy. The pieces (boneless) were succulent and the gravy was thick and nice to taste. I did tried the paneer as well which was OK. At 8:30 the place was fully occupied, and a big waiting line outside. Service was prompt too. Altogether was good experience will surely visit with family soon.

You almost can't go wrong at eating at Pandara Road Market, but I think Gulati might be my favorite, although it's not particularly cheap to eat there. It's hopping busy for a reason - really good food. Still, they were able to seat me pretty quickly, the wait took about 10 minutes. Indoor dining only. If you're visiting from abroad, as I was, I can also assure you that they seem to run a clean place. And great service, despite servicing a big crowd, servers and managers checked in on me regularly. Possibly the best shahi paneer of my life, I'll definitely be a repeat customer next time I am in town.

We first visited the restaurant around 2 pm for lunch, and didn't realise there would be a queue! (45 mins wait we were told) We ended up visiting the next day for a 7.30 pm dinner. This time we called beforehand to ensure we would get seats. The food and service were excellent. The waiter that served us was really polite. We tried butter chicken in restaurants all around our North India trip, and we concluded that we had the best butter chicken at Gulati. Every dish we ordered was great: butter chicken, bhindi, chicken65 My boyfriend commented while eating that "this is the one place I will recommend to people to eat at if they are in New Delhi" The Manager, Ankush came round at the end of our meal to ask for our feedback. Great personal touch.

Food was excellent - must try the Tandoori chicken, butter chicken and Amristari Fish. Loved the serious COVID precautions they took- All servers were wearing masks, face shield, gloves and surgical hats. This is first time I have tried the place and was a bit pricey but food was excellent

Gulati's is synonymous to good food. This is one of the legendary and oldest places in Delhi. Its usually crowded and you have to wait outside. Their non-Veg items are really wonderful. For Vegetarian Only people, they have a separate restaurant in the same market.

When in India, do as the Indians! The restaurant was packed with joyful locals, which is often a very good sign. The restaurant is world famous for it's Butter Chicken, served in a sauce that has been on the boil for 48 hours. And, they fid not let us down! A very good meal, friendly service and very happy guests. Highly recommended!

Our family went to Gulati's and ordered mutton burrah kababs, chicken malai tikka, chicken nawabi kabab, dal, butter chicken gravy and a bread basket. Everything was exceptionally delicious except for the chicken nawabi kababs which was a dish that was trying too hard - too many flavours and textures competing for attention. Apart from that each item was super-good. The kababs were beautifully spiced and just melted in the mouth, all the breads were soft and crisp at the same time and the combination of dal and butter chicken gravy was absolutely delicious. This is your neighbourhood kabab joint that has died and gone to heaven. It isn't cheap but it is value for money. I was pleasantly surprised by the stylishness of the food presentation and service too was good. Highly recommended. Book a table or go early.
