About
Restaurant 24h open with German Bakery and Cheese Shop. Brown Bread Bakery and Organic Food P.Ltd is the very first organic bakery with restaurant in India with branches in Varanasi and Delhi. Since 2015 we started also a Vegan restaurant Varanasi. The company supports the projects of Learn for Life by using the profits for funding the school and to provide fair working conditions for all the staff. We use as many organic ingredients as possible for our products. All our bakery items are made from different kinds of organic grains which are always grinded freshly. The grains, the rice and the lentils are produced by certified small farmers which we visit and check regularly.

The brown bread bakery is located in the Ajay guest house in main bazar road, Paharganj, New Delhi They are serving very good food: indian & european. The profit supports the learn for life project in Varanasi. Especially the breakfast with fresh bread was recommendable and I would recommend everyone to visit this restaurant!

The ambience is dull
The food was very average! Nothing special!
The bread was the best thing.
I may return to try the pizzas.

Delicious lemon and sugar crepe for breakfast. The chai was yummy too. Down a little side street so you have to watch for it. It is tucked away a bit in the back. Ambience wasn’t anything special but the food and bread were great.

Great crispy bread, good black filter coffee, delicious mango and apricot jam and a nice, full bowl of fresh fruit with curd. You should definitely come here for breakfast if you miss European food. We will come back for sure!

The food is OK when it turns up, if it turns up. Never bother to turn the lights on and the service is non existent. Used to be the hangout for backpackers but that sadly no longer exists. Miserable staff and terrible service.

Found this cafe on google, locally where I was staying in Pahargnj, Delhi. It became my go too spot. Serving fresh organic (if possible) simple food. Not overly abundunt with choices, but that to me is reasuring that it is prepared on the spot and as fresh as it can be for Delhi. (Sometimes big menus mean food is prepared in advance, stored and heated) -ve. Lovely bakery items, cakes and simple menu.
Recommended if you feel like a step off the busy streets of Delhi.
Its down a little laneway .

Brown bread bakery offered a large menu with plenty of vegan options. They also have a little shop that has vegan biscuits, cookies, bread and spreads.
The food was tasty and very well priced. They support a local school with there cafe which is really nice.
Definitely recommend this place.

Visited with my wife on Nov 22nd. Expected Brown Bread Bakery to be a real bakery. It's rather a restaurant that has little to do with baking. The place looked dark and depressing, the service was rude, and the products (cinnamon buns or the like) turned out to be old. This place shouldn't be recommended by the guide (Lonely Planet).

After the visit of the brown bread bakery in Varanasi we visited the restaurant here in Delhi as well. Also friendly service and good food. The restaurant here was not as cozy as the other one but nothing to talk about. We were very happy to find their tasty and vegan peanut butter and the crissini they sell. The area where it is located seems to be also famous for travelers. Would recommend it.

I ate here three times while in Delhi, once for lunch and twice for dinner. All three times, the food was very decent (not exceptional or mind-blowing, but good and satisfactory for the price) but the service was pretty subpar. Waiter unsmiling, often quite difficult to get the attention of, very slow with the bill, etc. Friendlier service would push this easily up to 4 or 5 stars for me, because it is a nice clean place that feels like a bit of a refuge from the Main Bazaar hubbub.

I was in Brown Bread Bakery at Varanasi and Delhi last year: it was perfect! a paradise with good food. Nevertheless, such year, I am very very disappointed: no home, no menu, nobody responding to the phone for the order from the rooftop... I know, this is not a restaurant but still....

Tried to order from the counter. Was ignored for 5 minutes and then told to go to my table and wait. 2 other tables were taken so restaurant more or less empty. 3 staff members slouching around carelessly and 15 minutes later someone took our order. Asked for the tomato on the side of the freshly made sandwich which he confirmed but obviously it was in the sandwich when it arrived to which he replied “just take it out”. Every dish was served with 20 minutes inbetween eachother which meant i ate first, my wife second then the shared starter came last. The food was good but they couldnt have been cheaper on the amount in a scientific lab even. The hummus on my bread was more like an accidental leftover from the knife they sliced the bread with... was mainly here for the advertised variety of bread and cheese but they only had one variety of bread and 2 out of the cheeses on their menue. Fairly disapointing visit to say the least.

Visit this place for Israeli cuisine, which is available at very few (maybe 2 more) places in Delhi. Do try the Israeli thali they have to offer. Good dessert options also.
