The best jaffna masala dosa. Typically Indian atmosphere. It is located behind the bus stop in the center of jaffna. Highly recommended

Undermining the Covid-19 safety regulations is a serious issue with this restaurant. Staffs aren't wearing masking and there aren't any social distancing practices.

Actually this was my first review in TRIPADVISOR. I Have visited several times malayan cafe. the food was good & tasty. i like the traditional way they serve the food and # ulundu vadai "உளுந்து வடை" is best. food side is good but they have...to improve the restaurant cleanness environment (bin & hand washing areas) # especially restaurants waiters have to improve their behavior with guest and with their own staffs.More

I can see why this is highly rated as it’s very cheap prices for quality food. There are not a lot of options to choose from which can make it easy if you’re not picky. LOVE that the food comes on banana leaves and free...water refills with metal cups. I feel the owners should take it to the next step by not offering plastic straws and definitely stop serving hot tea in plastic cups as it’s not healthy to have hot liquid in plastic. Single use plastic will be banned in most western countries of as this year so would be great for places in Jaffna to do so too :)

Loved this local place and the vegetarian food. Just ask for a mixed dish and a cold bottle of water. Put your used banana leaf away afterwards... no pretentious style. Just local and good. Eat with your hands and enjoy!

Walking distance from our hotel, we enjoyed the snacks at Malayan Cafe. The food is excellent, and the variety ranges from a full lunch of rice and vegetables to snacks such as vada, which arrives crisp and piping hot. Their tea is also very good.

Every time I visit Jaffna I make it apoint to visit this caffe to enjoy some local food. Very often served on a Banana leaf in a traditional view. It is situated in a bust street and it is best you park your vehicle else...where and walk there.More

Went here for breakfast and had the stringhoppers with sambar, dosa and a patty. The food was served quickly, it was simple and very tasty and the staff were warm and welcoming. Not a fussy or tourist venue which made it very nice and would...definitely have gone again if I'd been in Jaffna longer.More
