We ordered two “Big Sandwiches”, one with sausage, the other with a burger. Sadly, the burger wasn’t much of a burger… the tiny sausage was also lost in the bread.

No, it's not on the lake, no there is no view to the volcanos, but the food has been some of the best we ate in our week on Ometepe. The service was welcoming and fast, the location is chilled with reaggea music in the...background. We had the burrito and the asion veggie Wok and both has been way better than what you usually get. Sadly our hotel was on the other side of the island so we just had the chance to go there once. Definitely a must if you are in the area!More

Great place. Nice variation of dishes on the menu. Big chicken sandwich is truly amazing, just as the delicious pizza's. Clean and hygienic. Owner is always up for a talk, and the working staff is friendly and always smiling!

It takes 20 minutes to order and then over an hour before you get something to eat. So don’t go if hungry. Staff is friendly. Don’t sit at the first table unless you like being eaten by ants.

We stayed at El Bamboo in Balgue. Before we even arrived the service was already perfect! We where informed about the lack of atms on the island and we even had a pickup from the boat. Upon arrival it was all very relaxed, it was...just before dinnertime when we arrived so the owner really took his time to make us feel at home. The room it self, the Treehouse, looks amazing next to the lake and in between other treehouses. The bed is great but the shower is excellent! Unfortunately due to circumstances we had Té leave after 1 night instead of staying 4. The owner was very helpful and offered to pay us back the missing nights, we declined. As a thank you the owner said the dinner was free of charge, such a nice gesture! By the way, go here for the food! It’s amazing, also try the homemade Baileys! They offer a variation of yours but none seemed to fit our wishes, but that didn’t matter, they made ius a personal tour, again great service!! All in all, stay at El Bamboo, you won’t regret!More

We stayed on the island for two nights and chose to return both evenings. Both the food and the hospitality are fantastic. All dietary requirements can be accommodated. On both nights I enjoyed a vegan gluten free feast. Also the smoothies are phenomenal! Thank you

After a long journey to the island this place fed us with a great burrito, sandwich and some cold beer.

We visited this place when staying at the Lazy Crab in Balgue. Great food and super friendly guy (whose name we didn’t catch!) who appears to run the place. Very reasonably priced. Would recommend trying the home made baileys which was delicious! A must visit...if you are in Ometepe.More

Ordered the homemade ravioli and it was delicious. I cannot believe such a place exists on this tiny island. Service was fast and friendly. The restaurant actually had everything offered on the menu and they even make their own version of Baileys. Lovely experience.

turned up late one evening after getting too carried away with pre dinner drinks and finding everywhere closed. Even tho they had closed the kitchen, they were nice enough to whip us up some snacks! Went back for a breakfast and dinner during our stay...and they were always do happy and attentive with service (unlike soooo many other places on the island). Full meals were on point and very fairly priced... best place we found on the island by a long wayMore

We probably ordered the wrong things at this Argentinean restaurant, but we had a homemade ravioli bolognese and hamburger. The ravioli sauce was fine but the paste was soggy and overdone, reminded me of boiled dumplings or perogis. And the hamburger - the house made...bread bun was too thick and the stuff inside was kind of dry. If this was half the price we payed, it’d be like - ok fine whatever, but because this was most expensive meal we’ve had on Ometepe we had higher expectations for the price. Perhaps the quality of ingredients used are of high quality in the dishes we ordered, but the cooking style did not reflect that.More

We had worked up quite an appetite having so much fun on Ometepe. This place was recommended, and we left very full. The food is very well-flavored, and they have a good selection of bottles of south american wine. The sausage was particularly good. The...local staff was great, and gave us some good recommendations on places to stay. The cupcakes were really good too.More

Food was not good. The meat was allmost impossible to chew. The place was overpriced. The staffs dogs were running around all the time what I think is unhygienic. Overall a bad experience.

One of the better places to eat on Ometepe island. The Argentinian steak was tasty but the meat was tough and the place was way overprised for the island. We were 4 pers and payed 80$ what is allmost a month salary for the locals....Would not eat there again.More
