I visited this mess with my family last month. We went there about 8.15 PM and we had to wait atleast 30 mins. It is small mess. But homely type. Around 8.45 PM we got our place and ordered idly and dosas . All were...tasty. But too much rush . They are closing at 9.30 PM. Want to taste breakfast and lunch too.More

We had dinner at a local mess - Murugan mess. They serve homely tiffen items - idlies and dosas. The food was very simple and nice. We also had breakfast at Murugan mess, which is located in the adjacent narrow street from the main temple....It is around 10 minutes walk from the temple and worth it. The pooris, pongal, idlies, vada were all good. The Murugan mess is locatable by Google maps.More

This I reckon as an house instead as a Restaurant wherein one can get some sort of homely feeling and rather their food their hospitality has impressed me a lot. This Mess is situated towards the north of the Temple & hardly it takes less...than 10 minutes reach this Mess from the temple. Further it is situated on some bye lanes of the town and maximum, it may accommodate 20 guests, at a time & therefore, during peak season, one need to wait, at least for 30 minutes, to get his turn. And most important is after finishing food one need to remove their plantain leaf And last but not least, the quality of food, though not extraordinary, is satisfactory and far far better than any other nearby other RestaurantsMore

Even though there is no ambiance, the food is very good and tasty, at a reasonable rates. It is just like home food. People who visit Rameswaram can try this place for food.

This was highly rated online so we thought we'd try it. In any case, since the hotel where we were staying had no restaurant we had to eat out. It is a small place, (at an estimate max 15 people can be seated), located in...a small lane near the Ramanathaswamy temple. Visited twice, once in the evening (almost dinner time) and for breakfast. In the evening as I remember we had dosais which were quite good. Breakfast was supposed to start at 7.30 am; the person asked us to come at 8.00, we arrived somewhat later, but only idly, vada and pongal were available. Puri was being made but not ready. All the food items were tasty and the rates were also cheap. Service reasonable. Note: Food was served on a banana leaf which we had to remove from the table and throw into the tub. Cons No tea or coffee is served. (We asked both times.) Ambience: nothing to talk about. The restaurant faces the road/lane and the front part is open; the point is that some of the items are stored there and therefore all the flies in the road can get to them. (And as I may have mentioned elsewhere, Rameshwaram lanes were in general filthy.)More
