Delicious homemade vegetarian fusion food from the Rajasthani and Maharastra regions of India. We serve a wide range of dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner, at very affordable prices. Our produce are sourced locally and meals are prepared fresh to order. You can enjoy the beautiful views of the fort and Bundi town from our rooftop terrace while you wait for your food to arrive. We are also very happy for you to join us in the kitchen whilst we prepare your meal so you can learn the secrets of our family recipes! Note: if you have any dietary requirements, please inform us upon ordering and we will be more than happy to accommodate for you.

Excellent food served by friendly hosts.

Excellent home cooked food, small menu all Indian food which we prefer to places that say they can do many different things. Charming couple discussed the menu, asked about our preference of spiceness. We had three different curries , rice, naan bread and tea and it came to 850 including a tip. Be aware the steps up to the roof are steep but it helps to work off the calories! Another good point was as well as being delicious and fresh, the food wasn’t at all greasy. Highly recommended.

Just had the most wonderful lunch at this rooftop restaurant. We had okra curry, aubergine curry and chappartis + a bottle of water. There is no menu the owner discusses what you would like dependant on vegetable availability. It would be difficult to beat the price. Please go and try you will not be disappointed.

Amazing, authentic Indian food. Great value and lovely owners!

When looking online for places to eat in Bundi, I came across A&R cafe. We decided to give it a go and were not disappointed! It is a small family run restaurant on the roof of their house. They do not have a big menu but that was one of the best things about it. Over the last 4 weeks in India I have often commented on the menus having too many options (currys, sandwiches, noodles, pizza etc) rather than focusing on what they can make really well. Not the case at A&R! After chatting with the owner Arvin we chose Dal fry and a potato/aubergine curry with rice and chapati. Everything is cooked fresh so we settles down with our lemon sodas and waited, smelling the amazing aromas coming up from the kitchen! We discussed the level of spice we wanted (we like spicy food) and the level Renuka cooked for us was perfect! Enough to make our noses run a bit but not make the food uncomfortable to eat. I completely recommend the aubergine/potato curry, one of the best dishes we have had in India! Although everything was delicious so whatever your taste I doubt you’ll be disappointed. After dinner we had a lovely conversation with Arvin about India and Bundi. Overall, the owners are lovely (their children welcomed us and said goodbye also) and the food is amazing, authentic and good value. Definitely visit here whilst in Bundi!

Authentic food in personal atmosphere

Charming family preparing home-made food fresh and according to your own preferences (e.g spice level). Café owner is a former tour guide and will answer any question you might have regarding Indian culture or the city. During the cold season, you will be invited to sit in the kitchen in front of the open fire being able to watch the cooks doing their magic. Absolut must for anybody looking for authentic, delicious, fresh food in personal atmosphere.

Great dinner in Bundi

We had a lovely home cooked meal here in early December 2022. We ate Chana masala (excellent), mixed vegetables, dahl, rice, chapatis, lemon tea. It was a delicious meal after a long day. We saw other reviews on Google maps that said the food had too much oil, but we didn’t think so. We thought it was perfect, actually. The food is prepared when ordered and the aroma was making us hungrier! Totally worth the slight wait. Arvin and his wife Renuka are nice people and Arvin’s English is very good. You will have a good experience here.

Authentic,delicious food

We have been in India for 10 days and this cafe serves the best authentic food we have eaten. Potato and aubergine curry was delicious and the egg curry was out of this world. Incredible value and outstanding hosts. A must if you visit Bundi.

This was one of the best meals we had in nearly 1 month in India. The food is authentic Rajasthani, and tastes incredibly fresh and wholesome - you can tell it's home made. The cashew curry and the eggplant & potato dish were amazing, and the couple who owns the place is very kind and welcoming. Highly recommend if you're craving flavorful and authentic Indian food.

Freshly cooked delicious food

We came to A&R as our second choice restaurant and we were not disappointed. In fact, it was quite the opposite - we were delighted to have gone there. The freshness and quality of the food was excellent as everything was cooked from scratch and was of a high quality. In particular the cashew curry was delicious although everything was very good indeed. The family who ran this restaurant really couldn’t do enough for us including sending one of the children out to get a beer for us!

Very nice dinner. Fresh and made with love. Owner first came to ask what we liked, explained the food and recommended an excellent cashewcurry for a very good price. Don’t expect to much from the site. We really can recommend this place.

Very affordable nice meal

We had a delicious vegetarian Indian meal near the fort. No menu with prices available but the nice owner explained the options and the prices are very affordable.

We went here based on Tripadvisor reviews and after meeting the owner sitting at his front door. What a delightful family. After dinner they sat with us chatting for a little while (the dad speaks really good English, having been a guide in the past) and they brought their boys up to meet us - they each read a paragraph of their English books. The parents are really working hard to help their boys be successful. We were shown a menu in the morning and chose a cashew curry and an egg curry. The food was therefore ready just after we arrived. It was absolutely delicious. The egg curry had 4 whole boiled eggs in it!! With a beer, a bottle of water, a nan bread and all the food it only cost about £10. Great value for delicious food with the added bonus of speaking to, and learning more about, some local people. Hopefully the issues caused by Covid are behind them and their trade will grow again. They deserve to do well.
