My friend and I stumbled upon Saravana Bhavan whilst looking for South Indian delicacies in Munnar- and it didn’t disappoint one bit. We had rava masala dosas, idlis, onion uttapam in authentic banana leaf used as plates. The food came with sambhar and trio of chutney that were refilled as we devoured them, the service was top notch & the place really clean. The dosa was one of the best I have ever had. In fact, we liked it so much that we ordered another one to share after our meal. Would highly recommend for such an affordable price too!

100 Rs delicious veg meal

We had lunch at this place which costed 100 Rs per person for unlimited veg meal. Food was delicious and really value for money. Place might look shabby from outside but i would definitely recommend to ignore the ambience and enjoy the meal. Try to reach early to avoid the crowd.

Very sumptuous, local sadhya lunch, typical Kerala taste, enjoyed every bit of it after long sightseeing trip at Munnar. Great value for money. Humble suggestion to serve the lunch items hot, atleast sambar, rice and specialy when it is raining outside.

The masala Dosa was excellent, just WOW! The restaurant is located in the market and has to be reached through a narrow road. A nice and tidy place with the people serving freshly cooked items on time. Even in the morning, it was crowded with many local people also having breakfast. If anyone wants to taste authentic Masala Dosa, Idly this is the right place to be in Munnar.

Recommended by the positive reviews we went to try it. The location is not easy to find except through the map, being in a side street. The place is frequented by locals and Indian tourists, clean, essential, accompanied by the presence of the owner who exudes friendliness and hospitality. We were able to speak with him through our driver guide and realizing the pleasure of serving you your own dishes. We took a gigantic dosa accompanied by good veg dishes, some spicier, some less so. I also tasted the nan which I had read was a must and I confirm its goodness. Worth going even just for a smile from the owner.

A very busy, buzzy and obviously popular restaurant with locals and tourists alike. Difficult for us to understand what we were ordering but we went for the special platter which involved a Thali style arrangement of small flavoursome dishes on a banana leaf with a pile of rice in the middle. Very tasty.

Great restaurant - Excellent South India cuisine.

This was one of the best meals we had during our trip. You don't need a fancy restaurant to taste excellent Indian cuisine. The food was fresh, and spicy. They served a deep fried cauliflower that we had never had in India before. There were options of dosa. The roast dosa was especially good. We enjoyed our meal and returned the second night to try different south India foods.

Great place to try South Indian food

First I tried the onion dosa. While the portion was large and more than sufficient, I ordered another one since the first one was quite tasty and I wanted to eat more :) . Next, I ordered Ghee onion masala dosa, which was really loved by my friends and I loved it too. Must try it if you are a Dosa lover.

I have been here with my family which includes 2 kids. Very nice tasty and simple food. Service is also good. Owners n waiters take care n guide what to order. My kids really liked the dosa n curd rice. Veg thali was too good.

Must Visit While in Munnar

Situated in a by lane opposite the petrol pump in Munnar market. Very busy at all times. Simple seating, available with out wait as the service is very quick. Rava Onion Dosa is the best along with fresh vada. Sweet lassi was not as thick as it should be. Pricing is very reasonable. Good and tasty food for the entire family.

Wonderful restaurant! Friendly, cheap. tasty, fast. Of course, don't be put off by the name hotel - this is just Indian English. Probably best to avoid the coffee - very little connection to the genuine item.
