Hidden away in the heart of Panjim, Black Sheep Bistro is a true gem that offers a delightful mix of alternative vibes and comfy stouts. From the moment we stepped in, the place stood out for its relaxed atmosphere, groovy music, and great service. We started with a Susegado Dortmund Goan Draft Beer, which was exceptional, perfectly complementing the Goan vibes. My wife went for a rum cocktail, Blush, which was equally amazing. To pair with our drinks, we ordered the Pullout Cheesy Garlic Bread—this was a revelation! So good, we ordered it twice. For dessert, the Chocolate Beignets were a must-have indulgence, while the Patrón Silver Tequila shots added a perfect burst of fun to our meal. One downside was the 75 dry rub chicken, which we found a bit too crispy for our liking. It’s definitely on the pricier side, as our bill came to ₹5,500, but overall, it's worth it for the experience and the quality. Must try!

Superb food. After a week repeat lunch visit. First time had the most delicious Garlic & caramalised onion pie- 4 slices & great for sharing. Main course had Chicken Sambal with rice, again a great dish. Went there yesterday as we both wanted to eat burgers- Fish burger & Pork pulled burger asked to be cut in half to share , with fries both fantastic. Great food & service, value for money. Highly recommend.

We made the mistake of not booking and had to wait for 15-20 mins but I’m glad we waited. The food was great and each dish was uniquely done. Service was slow for 2 dishes and the manager was honest to admit that the mushrooms may not be good so suggested another Indonesian dish which was nice. They compensated for the delay with desserts on the house. Just go there when I’m goa !

We visited the BSB in its new location for the first time since they moved out of Panjim. There is ample parking at this new location although the stairs leading up to the restaurant could do with some minor repairs. The menu has changed and some of the old favourites such as the Blackened chicken creole style and the Lamb Ossobucco were sadly missing. We ordered a few of the cocktails such as the Negroni, Mint Julep whisky and the traditional Smoked Whisky sour. All cocktails met expectations in terms of flavour and presentation but only wished the bar would use a better brand of whisky instead of Oaksmith especially since the cocktails are not priced cheap. The server/barman was not able to cater to our requirement of preparing signature whicky based cocktails such as an Old Fashioned and a Manhattan. He informed us that they did not have bitters !!!! (Hard to believe that a fully stocked bar does not keep a bottle of Angostura bitters) For appetizers, we sampled the Citrus Calamari and the 75 Dry rub chicken from their "Smaller Plates" section of the menu. The calamari was outstanding and was served with a delicate prawn emulsion. The 75 Dry rub chicken however, was totally disappointing and was not keeping in sync with the rest of the items on the menu. It was batter fried chicken tenders, which were greasy and barely crispy. For mains, we ordered the Peanut crusted fish with orange beurre blanc which was mediocre. The portion size was small. We also ordered the Chicken Cretin which was well cooked and served with corn cream and seared broccoli. We also tried the Mexican Fried rice with chicken which was nothing exceptional and lastly the Ghee Roast pork ribs. This dish was superb as the ribs were perfectly cooked and went well with the accompanying pilaf. We ended the meal on a sweet note. The Pecan Pie was superb, however, there y could have been a bit more generous with the dulche de leche. The server informed us (after accepting our order) that the Pannacotta was not available and so we settled for the Textures of Olive which was mediocre. Hemraj (server) appeared to be in a hurry to see us off as he presented the bill without us asking for it and without asking if we wanted to finish our meal with a coffee or any other hot beverage. Considering that the restaurant offers a range of post dinner beverages, this was rather surprising. We missed the old team of servers at BSB.

We visited the restaurant on Saturday evening, nice ambience, service was quick, we ordered few mocktails, one containing watermelon, one containing pomegranate, both were good. My son ordered calamari fish starter which he said was very tasty and he also ordered mexican rice with chicken, where chicken was bland, but rice was too good, as we others are veg, we ordered veg starters, variety of veg food id less but all dishes were yummy and tasted different, we ordered one lotus stem starter which was somewhat spicy but very tasty, Also one jackfruit starter was very good, Also veg spaghetti pasta for my younger one was also good. But prices are on somewhat higher side Overall we will definitely like to visit again

One of my favorite restaurants in Goa. Last time I visited 7 years ago, the restaurant was at a different location. I was happy to find out that the new venue had only positive impact on the quality of the food and service. Delicious food and great drinks. Friendly and helpful staff. What's not to like? Highly recommended! Very nice place to visit

My Family love Goa in the monsoons and enjoy the walk in the bylanes of Panaji. As we get hungry we head out to try new places. This time we went to Black Sheep Bistro nestled just next to the Panjim Gymkhana and tucked inside a quaint little set of buildings off the Mandovi river. While it might be a bit slushy outside and parking gets a bit tight, the ambience inside is warm and inviting. You are greeted by friendly staff like Rana who ensure you are comfortably seated. Do make prior reservations even in off season as it's a really popular place. Time for the menu ....start with the drinks ...a neat range and lots of options. So we asked for recommendations and tried a variety of cocktails. For espresso martini fans, that's one for the list. For Goa gin fans do try their Star Anise special. And in case you want to get into the beer mode, ask for the Maka on the tap. For the food, we were keen on variety again. So lots of small plates , especially their Chicken mini Bao which comes in a set of 6 , 5 spiced lotus stem , Crunchy fish tacos , Prawns plancha ....and some large plates - Hainanese chicken rice ,Malwani Mushroom stroganoff with Chicken . And while you wait for your food you can stroll around and admire the artwork that's on sale. Service is quick, Staff are very courteous, Ambience is warm and lively ( but not the loud party style craziness). Once you have had your sumptuous meal , continue your walk through Panaji and take in the sights as you burn some calories too ! Note - They used to run Black market and Lazy sheep as separate restaurants, but have joined them up now .

The food, music, ambience - excellent. Ample parking. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food is delicious. Sea food is especially good. Cleanliness, service, food, music, ambience - everything is excellent. The location is quiet and convenient. Parking is easily available. I have eaten fish and prawn in several Goan restaurants but "The Black Sheep Bistro" was one of the best.

I have got used to eating extraordinarily well in Goa, and almost all my reviews have been 5. At Black Sheep Bistro I thought I might not enjoy myself quite as much, because it is not your typical Goan restaurant. The decor is mostly quite modern, the music was largely western, and the menu is cosmopolitan rather than Goan, although there are Goan dishes available. The choice is also not as wide as some restaurants but this is not necessarily a bad thing. However, having chosen Goan dishes, any doubts we had were quickly swept away when the food arrived. We were very impressed, not only with the quality of the food, but also with the presentation, which was nothing short of top notch. Looking around, this was evident at every table we could see. In the end, a great meal, and pleasantly different. Medium range cost wise, so definitely worth a visit.

The ambience was food with not loud music and a great atmosphere. We had draught beer (Susegoda) and lots of food during lunch. The food portion is for single person only, which is mentioned in the menu. Pad Thai noodles, mexican rice, fish, chicken. I would recommend this place for dinner and lunch.

In an old colonial home this bistro has a lot of charm. You can choose which ambiance you want by rambling through the different dining areas. Tried a few dishes from the starters, enjoyed the original flavours a fusion of Portuguese Goan and world cuisine. Particularly enjoyed the seafood

I love Goa for everything it has to offer. And now it’s offering me something more. In the form of Black Sheep. Had heard so much about it but had just not gotten around to going to Panjim to enjoy this restaurant. Finally made it yesterday. And so glad that I did. Charming place. Spacious and airy. Delicious food. And excellent service …. Thank you Rana for your happy face, great food suggestions and light hearted banter. If you like beer do try their Wheat beer… smooth light and delicious. Though the Jackfruit tostada disappointed us, the pulled cheese bread, the Ghee Roast Pork ribs, burrata salad, Chorizo with chocolate sauce, Fish tacos and Burnt cheesecake more than made up for that and we had such a fantastic meal.

Ate here on our last night in Goa. A little uninviting at first with poor signage. This restaurant is off the main road but thankfully the taxi knew where it was. We did not reserve a table and we were first to arrive. Welcomed by nice AC. The restaurant itself is a warren of large rooms all connected without doors. Lots of wonderful paintings on every wall. Spotlight lit tables. Nice modern music on the sound system. Hipster vibe. Trendy. Modern. The food is fusion and it works so well. Local and international ingredients to create innovative food. Every dish was beautiful. Presentation to taste. Perfect. One of the best meals we have had in India. Service was impeccable. Cocktails were amazing and the craft beers also. We were unsure about coming here as the reviews are a bit odd but we are so glad we did. Well worth a visit. Only downside for me is the male bathroom area needs more attention. It’s a little dirty.

Highly recommend following my recent visit. The narrow and dilapidated road leading to the restaurant and the facade of the place are very deceptive! Once you walk up the stairs to what appears to be an old Goan home, you are greeted with friendly and helpful staff. There are some bar chairs on the veranda, but inside is air-conditioned. I liked the trendy, but classy decor. The server was friendly and attentive, providing his recommendations. I really loved the pork ribs and the fried chicken appetizer! The music and vibe was nice and we enjoyed the experience!

A very pleasant chilled venue in a quiet location with excellent attentive staff. The menu is very good with unusual dishes and a pleasant change. I had rocket and papaya salad with nuts and oriental dressing which was delicious. The burger my husband tried was very soft and wet texture. We tried the craft beers which were tasty but quite expensive. It's quite far from the centre of Panjim and very close to Miramar beach.
