I was on lunch, family lunch. Food without taste, Small portions below norms. Pizza was quite poor and the prices are too high. Horrible

A typical Mediterranean ''konoba'' offering local seafood and homemade Malvazija wine. Ask for the daily catch to get excellent fresh fish. Bbq squid and pizza also recommended.

Service was fine. Food, ok, pizza frutti di mare with pieces of shells and uncleaned mussels. Pricewise ok, something like 350 kunas for 4 pizzas, one tagliatele, beer and 4 teas.

You enter through narrow streets, it is winter time, and cold. Sky is blue, in the radio there is a warning about Bura (strong inland wind) - it is been a 3 hour long ride from Zagreb, and honestly, we are a tired, however excited about the fact that it is off season - hardly no people on the streets.... By far our best experience in Rovinj. Really ... this lovely place is much, much better than the run-of-the-mill, seacoast-town restaurant. This place would be successful anywhere. On a cold evening in early January, every table was filled. First, the food: fresh, fresh, fresh; beautifully presented; wonderfully flavorful. For every other meal we've had in Rovinj, I would grade the... More

la vela is open year round and is where the locals go. Located in the Old City, this restaurant offers a nice, quaint ambience, great Mediterranean menu at fantastic prices. For 250Kunas you can order a fresh seafood platter for 2 which consists of 2 grilled fish, shrimp, mussels, langostino, octopus and calamari! it was a feast! The owners also... More

We were there with a large group and we were accommodated quickly and well. The food was fresh and ample and frankly what more could you ask of a small trattoria.

Croatia is expensive - VERY expensive - restaurants by Rovinj sea front are also very expensive and taste AWFUL! La Vela is priced very well and tastes BEAUTIFUL! We had a fish platter for lunch one day and the next day ordered takeaway to our hotel as we didnt want to risk trying anywhere else! Beautiful food!!
