After any trips to Italy, I experienced the best pasta ever at this restaurant. Following a wonderful collection of antipasto (or whatever the right word is in Croatian), I had a fabulous almond pesto pasta. And I wasn't the only one in our group who was very happy with their lunch, sitting outside, waving away the occasional wasp and looking... More

I had lunch here today in the middle of a long bike ride including the substantial uphill from the coast to Pupnat. So I was ready for some food. What I didn't expect was just how good it would be. Gorgeous olives, pasta with fennel and the kind of tomato salad that you just don't seem to get anywhere else.... More

This was by far my wife's favorite place- fresh local ingredients prepared perfectly and at a reasonable price- would be coming here every week were it not thousands of miles from home!!! Easy choice for us - great place. Be aware however that they only accept cash....

Konoba Mate is the excelent choice if you want to taste genuine local food on Korčula (or Croatia in general). It is run by a lovely and friendly family - they produce, cook and serve their own food.

We red and heard so much about this place, that we thought we couldn't be surprised. Yet, we were swept off with hospitality, approach, food and drinks we enjoyed. All ingredients are local, grown in family field arround restaurant. It is family run restaurant, where love is given to food from seed to plate, and you feel it in every... More

We went there after reading so many positive reviews but this place is not that excellent. First, when we came in nobody spoke a word in English and we were given a menu in Croatian. Then a lady approached us who spoke English and finally explained us what is what. The meals were fine (lamb and shrimps pasta), but for... More

Konoba Mate is persisting in being the best place to eat on the island. Their food is seasonal, alluring and pleasing. The owners are very nice and friendly family, ready to tell you about everything you try there. Don't miss ravioli with goat cheese or lamb with peas or their starters plate with small bites of local preserves, And really... More

Luckily for us Ana fitted us in for lunch yesterday. We had no idea at the time quite how much fun the experience would be. The stand out feature of this restaurant is the use of fresh, sometimes wild ingredients and locally sourced products (including wine) which are used to create lovely, moreish dishes. The temptation is to describe a... More

After reading all of the wonderful reviews of this restaurant, we made a reservation here for our first night in Croatia and were so happy we came. We ate in a little garden overlooking the main street through the town of Pupnat, a short drive away from Korcula's old town. We had locally-caught fish and homemade pasta and cheese. Our... More

You can't skip this if you're in Korcula. My wife and I just had the most delicious homemade pasta here (one dish was served with a pork medallion with a carrot slice in the middle, one was ravioli stuffed with homemade goat cheese and rosemary). The wine is equally incredible; some of it you can't get outside of Korcula. The... More
