This place used to be among the best Brazilian food restaurants in São Paulo, but with time it became rather ordinary - more inclined towards quantity than quality. It's not bad. The service is not good anymore and the food is rather plain.

When traveling, I want to go where the local people go for dinner. This place certainly fit the bill. I was the only tourist in the area. The staff was kind and helpful. They spoke English, and had an English menu. I wanted the São Paulo traditional Wednesday meal - feijoada (fey-jwah-duh). The food was delicious and very well prepared.... More

This restaurant was the perfect weekend lunch in Brazil; a heavier lunch to take a nap and then prepare yourself to go out later! The quibebe, couve, feijoada, carne seca, and mandioca were my favorite. Portions are for sharing so order wisely. Very gay-friendly as well, which all made us feel at home. A must-try in São Paulo.

Simply amazing! Must try. My wife is Paulistana and she's bringing me to the best places in town, and this is one of it. Generous portions (to share in 2 or 3, pay attention) and flavours, and speed, and friendly service, and...more.

Good quality restaurant with very few tourists. They have a menu in English. The food is typical northern brazilian with lots of meat. However you can ask to speak to the manager and they will produce very tasty vegetarian options with the savour of their cuisine. Good wine selection. A bit pricey for Brazilian but excelkent quality/price ratio. The restaurant... More

Delicious, albeit rustic food from the province of Minas Gerais. I loved it - really tasty, and huge portions.

Came for dinner with a couple of friends. We had various things to eat and it was excellent. Service was also great. I recommend to buy some cachaça from their cachaça cellar as they have many different ones from Minas Gerais.

busy place (specially during the weekend) that serves classic Brazilian food. Lots of (LOTS of) carbs that will keep you going all day/night. The bean stew is delicious (i don't even like beans that much) and the chicken was grilled to perfection. Huge portions, efficient service... great spot!

You could test the feijoada from Minas Gerais, great place and excellent Caipirinhas de tangerina. You could order 1 or just 1/2 portion because is big. Lots of people visit this place specially weekends

We had "leitao a pururuca" "tutu a mineira"'and "mandicoca com torresmo".. The portions were great and served 6 people.. What a tasty food.. Service was excellent! I love this place on Saturdays since we can walk on the "feira" in front after the lunch.. We will return when visiting Sao Paulo.

Staying in Pinheiros

Neighbourhood Profile
Pinheiros
Exploring Pinheiros, a neighbourhood known for cozy restaurants and cafes, you will notice a youthful energy. Several cultural centres and institutes surround the area and even its main church, Calvário, hosts a traditional Brazilian “Festa Junina” - a celebration with traditional music, dance, and food during the months of June and July. On the weekends, residents gather at Benedito Calixto Square, a loud and crowded area where people enjoy live music drinks alongside the antiquities fair.
