The food and service was amazing. Large portions of freshly cooked Italian pasta and fabulously tender beef served table-side by professional waitstaff. Sangria with fresh fruit was hard to beat too, served in a pitcher. Highly recommend!

Excellent and traditional restaurant. I asked for a Parmigian fillet that was divine. They would easily eat 3 people, because my husband and I couldn't eat everything. The Lambrusco for 60 reals was the pleasant surprise. Dessert a delicious pudding. The service of the waiter Getúlio as good as the food. Anyway, eat well without spending too much.

When I booked a table for a couple, I didn't imagine that it would be one of 4 places where they would put another couple at the table, making us lose all privacy, being it in the middle of Valentine's Day. Bad birthday dessert and unfavorable atmosphere. I would like to make up for lost time, sorry

This place has a very peculiar decoration with soccer t-shirts of all around the world hung from the ceiling. Waiters are very friendly and dishes are large enough to serve 2 or even 3 people. Prices are reasonable for the region.

Unforgetable Parmegiana Steak and Fetuccini with polpetoni. Take care about your order, you will probably carry away some food. They serve a large amount of food whatever you order. Don't forget the fried calamari. Interesting Soccer's Teams jerseys spread all over the ceiling. Very familiar!! Almost US$25 per head. Not very cheap.

They serve everything family style. And the orders are large. The one salad that we ordered for three could have fed twice as many. Service was great, but then again we were early and they weren't pressed. We would go again, but probably order less.

An establishment of great renown, Generale manages to be the best in a category that is direly competitive in the city: Italian. The variety and high quality of the plates is just hard to match, and the service is top notch. The prices are quite competitive, and in most other places of this caliber you will pay more for less. Portions are generous, so make sure to ask for help when picking the number of plates to order.

Eat at this restaurant some 25 years ago and promissed to come back, because the food is fantastic. Came back about 10 years ago and found that the food is consistently fantastic and promissed to return to this restaurant. Yesterday again I had a lovely meal and I can confirm, that the food is consistently excellent and very tasty. Indeed the headwaiter or (maybe owner) is still there. Will definately eat at this restaurant next time I return to Sao Paulo.

We've been to Generale for a family lunch.
Upon arrival the cordiality of the staff of valet service caught our attention.
The house was full. We had to wait for a free table.
It did not take 10 minutes for us to be forwarded to our table.
The waiter was very attentive. He asked which were our preferences. Suggested some pasta choices and explained about some aspects of the menu.
We chose a portion of the “Torradas da Osteria”. (Osteria Toast).
It is made with Italian bread, Neapolitan sauce gratin, with buffalo mozzarella.
Great!!! Great!!! Great!!!
But here's the tip: If you are in a group of less than 4 people, order half portion.
We continue to the main dishes.
Salads, Soups, Specialties, Meats, Chicken, Fish ... and .... Pasta !!!
So many options, but we wanted a Tradition Italian Pasta.
At The Generale, you’re able to choose the type of pasta and the type of sauce you want.
We ordered a gnocchi with Alfredo di Roma suace.
(White sauce with champignon, gratin with parmesan)
Fantastic!!!
Once again, another tip; ONE dish serves up to three people.
We certainly recommend it. We couldn’t even think about dessert.
It was a fine experience.
We can’t wait to return to Generale.

Italian food is always top of my list. Admittedly, it’s a struggle to order something in here as I didn’t speak Portuguese and they didn’t speak English.
I love parmigiana and it came with rice and chips. I could see the chips on the menu but not the rice, so was a bit of a carbicide. The tomato sauce was very rich and there was lots of mozzarella. However I don’t think it goes well with rice.
Warning: as others have said, they are large portions and the specialities are priced for two people so you can ask for a half portion (which is still plenty!).
Service was very attentive and we muddled through the ordering process so top marks.

Visited here a week ago with family. Restaurant always busy but service is prompt and efficient. Waiters are friendly and very attentive. Large menu to choice from. Servings are large and most times you will need a doggy bag. Quality of food is excellent. Restaurant had a great ambience and has many country flags hanging from ceiling. Is very family orientated. Overall highly recommended. May need to wait for table as is very popular. Arrived at 3pm on Sunday and was 80% full.
