We went to this restaurant based on the reviews we found on tripadvisor and I must say it lived up to the hype. Great drinks, main courses and the banana carapaccio was amazing! The staff were great and we will definitely come back here again!

We totally loved this place. The first night, we sat at the bar and tried two of their designer drinks (I loved the one with the starfruit and the one with red bull, forget their names). We had so much fun chatting with the waiter and bartender that we returned the next night. Again all tables were reserved so we... More

We had a lovely meal at this charming little place in Ipanema. All three of our main dishes (we did not order starters) were very good, and the presentation on each was excellent. Service was quite good. There is a very cute lounge upstairs; it's a great place to hang out while waiting for table. (Oddly, the staff did not... More

We really enjoyed our dinner at Zaza. Food was innovative, very tasty and using great products. Service was impeccable. My husband's fish was too salty (some our previous dishes also, so we mentioned it) and they replaced it without a question. I strongly recommend the restaurant, and if you are sensitive, ask to salt food yourself

Cozy, romantic and unique dining spot. Our concierge recommended this spot earlier, and now wish we had tried earlier. Unique, for example: Upstairs has a traditional Japanese style seating (take shoes off) area. Didn't discover this until after our meal and going to the restrooms ( dental floss dispensers in rest rooms) We dined downstairs an enjoyed a rib-eye steak... More

This is a really cool and quirky restaurant just a block from the beach in Ipanema. The quality of the food and presentation is superb and the service is excellent. Not cheap but worth splashing out.

Started the evening with a cocktail (not your typical list - Zaza adds a twist to everything), then we had the best ceviche of our entire trip. Spicy, juicy, and delicious. Some say that you should avoid Brazilian wine, but I'm sure they haven't tried Villa Francioni. We tried both red and white and they were both lovely. We enjoyed... More

We loved everything about Zaza! The location, the atmosphere, and of course mainly the food! We are big fish and seafood fans and this was clearly the place for us. We enjoyed our dishes so much we tried to analyse everything they were made of yo recreate it at home. Simply yum

Really very surprised about the rating in TA of this restaurant. Nothing special in decor or food, cramped tables on the outside on a traffic light junction behind Ipanema Beach. Noisy and full of fumes. Very limited menu, nice cooking but not spectacular, reasonable prices. Fair cocktail list nicely presented. Mainly tourists from around the world, no locals to be... More

I wasn't too impressed. The food was OK but for the price, I expected more. The tables were really cramped. I was literally bumping elbows with the fellow at the table next to me. We noticed that there weren't any locals there either--some Germans, Americans, Frenchies, Russians, and Nordic folks.
